I would like to see a naughty dog developed silent hill, all tho i think its quite a challenge as their games are mostly action oriented, they could really get into the series and do an amazing job. Just like double helix did, they strayed off their alley to make homecoming, wich in my opinion had very decent developing.

PLEASE RESTRAIN FROM SAYING TEAM SILENT, CAUSE YOU ALL NOW THAT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

I wouldn't mind seeing Vatra or Climax again, or even Double Helix. As for someone who's never done one before, perhaps Valve or IO Interactive. IO Interactive are great at setting moods and atmospheres (see: Hitman series, Kane & Lynch 1), and Valve have shown they can do horror well. Though if Valve did do one, we wouldn't see it for around ten years after it gets announced.

I made a thread a while back about the possibility of a Rockstar developed SH. Naughty Dog definitely has the power to do something great. We'll know for sure once The Last of Us comes out.

I think Vatra has at least one more Silent Hill in their bag of tricks. I'm not opposed to Climax coming back or Double Helix. I just want another Silent Hill already. :lol:

if it were to be one of the previous developers i would choose double helix, i liked the atmosphere they created along with they're gameplay mechanics and inventory system, not to mention the design team that worked on that game, i would love to see Kenzie Lamar come back for creature design, since IMHO homecoming has had the best creature design since 3 in the majority of the monsters

I wanna let Vatra give it another go because Downpour was really, really good.
I'd trust Double Helix again if they became less stupid and didn't try to make their own engine for it, as well as letting go of 2 and the movie.
Climax I'd also love to see do another original take on the series (a la Downpour or maybe Shattered Memories), seeing as they've scored 2/2 on the good game list for me.

...I wouldn't want another game from KCET, though. Their time is done, I don't think they can all come back together and MAKE DE MAGICKS like they did.

I think Vatra needs to return, take the great groundwork they started with Downpour and improve upon it, hopefully at least stick around for two more games.

I think Vatra should make the next one. I hope that this time fans are willing to give western devs a chance.

Really? I'm gonna be the first one to say it? 2K. They did a phenomenal job on the original BioShock. I am sure they could do an excellent job with Silent Hill.

People don't like how Konami is changing devs, they shouldn't give it to anyone new. They should just leave it to Vatra or Climax. Besides, who knows if 2K or Naughty Dog would do a good job. I'm not saying that they're not doing their job well, it's just that there's nothing that can guarantee that they know how to make a SH game.

I'm sold on Vatra.....they still need to work on their monster design and behaviors (the monsters in general should not be dodging and blocking and punching me like i'm in a boxing match)...they needed to be trying to tear me apart, but they nailed the atmosphere....walking thru those dark buildings and hallways, i had a feeling of dread just wondering what was around the next corner, and i absoultely loved the St Mary's stage play....these guys deserve another shot, it was a solid first effort.

As much as i like naughty dog, i think we've got a glimpse of what a survival horror will be like...if you've played any of the uncharted games you'll notice that each of them touch on horror aspects in their games, which was ok, but i'm not sure if they'd do a true horror game properly. I'm thinking that the game "The Last of Us" will be an uncharted game with zombies...

And one more aspect Downpour needed to ditch...the otherworld should be explored...I don't want another SH in which i'm being chased through the otherworld...

I'd say Vatra since they did a great job with Downpour. But they need to spend more time ironing out technical problems. If not them, then Climax would be another great choice.

I'd like to clarify that not all of the enemies are infected with the virus. The ones who aren't believe that the main characters are. Thus, they are hostile.

I know, right? People having opinions that differ from you? I mean what the fuck is wrong with people, right? Anyway, I just think Rockstar should make their own horror franchise. Given how intricate they are with various media references it'd be interesting to see what they could do.

Could give less fucks, however, picking developers that do not have any type of experience in psychological horror and instead major in action games is indeed puzzling to me to the point of having to ask myself what the fuck is wrong with people.

Oh please. The makers of the first Silent Hill didn't exactly have experience with horror games either yet they still managed to make a great game. Just because companies focus on other genres doesn't mean they can't tackle others competently. To suggest otherwise is simplistic thinking.

Except the creators of the series didn't have a long history of action oriented games under their sleeves or any history for that matter aside from very small scattered projects here and there so you can't really assume they didn't already have ideas in the background, considering SH1 came to be and it was what? Survival Horror, their first big name project too.
Also keep in mind how they stuck to the survival horror genre afterwards, and developed 3 more critically acclaimed games.
They clearly knew what they were doing and had a clear direction, just like ND and RS, except they clearly know about action games.

Once again, sequels were developed for Castlevania, Metal Gear, Dance Dance fucking Revolution, and we had new IPs like Zone of the Motherfucking Enders, man!
