Should Anne have been a co-lead?

I have a question. Was Murphy brought to Silent Hill because of Anne? Because she thought he killed her father? I'm confused about that, I don't think what Murphy did (to that fat guy) was bad. I guess it depends on what ending you get actually, but I'm assuming one of the good ones in canon.

Angela killed her rapist Dad and she got consigned to an eternity of hellfire by her guilt.

I think that with the new canon stuff that the new developers are trying to convey is this: Although Murphy was brought to Silent Hill for Anne's reasons, he still in Silent Hill. And because he's there, he has to deal with his past demons as well. Just like everyone else.

He wasn't really brought there specifically for Anne's reasons alone. It's for both of them since both Murphy and Anne have their own baggage that ended up colliding with the lives of one another. Hence, the reason they're both placed there.
