This topic is gonna get a little messy, so forgive me if what I'm describing makes no sense.

I used to be a member years ago at valtielsshsite.proboards.com, which has since moved to alchemillahospital.net, which links me to this website.Then there was a guy who goes by the name of 'Fungo' who also used to have his own forum, which I was also a member of, but now his website also links to this forum.

So my question is, what ever happened to the main moderator/admin at Valtiel's SH site (I think her username was 'Valtiel'), Fungo, and some of the original members like BronzeFox from Fungo's original forum?

Its like they all disappeared or something.

Yeah, Valtiel is nur_en_tier now, and she is an admin of these boards, along with me and Whitney (are you also familiar with Whitney?).

Fungo no longer helps run this place for reasons that I and many don't want to re-hash, though he's still a registered member here.

Bronze Fox visits occasionally, but for the most part has also moved with Fungo (they're together IRL) to his new boards.

A lot of sites have come together as Partners for these forums. This is done not only to bring fans of said sites together for more SH discussions, but also because communal SH sites are few and far between. Better to bring more together to one big board, than have a dozen smaller boards with even scarcer regular visitors than what this place or SHHF already get.

Our series just doesn't have the backing or muscle like Call of Duty or Metal Gear. But, really, I'm fine with that and in many ways like it like that!

Anyway, I'm here now, and I migrated the posts from the proboards and my later boards at circleofdestruction.net to here now.

Also, Fungo's SHT board merged with this, but he's not really around anymore on sh forums these days, it would seem. But both his forum and my forum merged with this forum, most of the members from both have migrated here or disappeared entirely. I still have the old topics on the probaords, they're just hidden. I moved most of them here though and moderate stuff here and try to spend moretime on my site at alchemillahospital.net. I changed the name from "Valtiel's sh site" because other people were using it and I was trying to find something less generic. As for my username, I used this one even before I had my own forum on forums like the SHF uk boards and on silenthillforum.com, so it's not new.

While some have been upset by forum merges in the past, I think it is a good thing for discussion when more members are in one place rather than scattered all over the place in 100 forums, so personally, I am glad to be here.

Anyone want to give me the basics as to why they left?I do remember Whitney. I've never been all that active (more of a lurker), but I've always enjoyed these forums and the community feel.. Just wanted to know where some of the older members are! Appreciate the responses!!

Well, I will answer only about my own forum here: many people disappeared from the sh community altogether. I just recently heard from Aaron (nightwalker) the co-moderator on my proboards forums, and he hasn't been keeping up with SH so much and left SH forums years ago. As for other members, sdjilliare is still here (as mercury) and there are several other "oldies" among us, can't recall who was where any more. ^_^

But I think this board has a nice community feel to it. ^_^

Fungo & Co. mistreated people in a variety of ways who out-spoke against their SH documentary for a variety of reasons.

I'm sorry, but please let's keep it simple as that. The topic of Fungo & Co. has caused too much drama and trouble for here and elsewhere. Setting aside some time to catch up on forum back-searching can also fill you in on many details. I just don't want to bring that topic up again for the umpteenth time as it almost always results in flame wars.

A lot of the old-school members from various places came here and changed their names, others kinda went to the deto and disappeared. There's a thread somewhere around here about name changes and such, you might spot some old friends there.

I myself came from Silent Hill Talk, been around in the community since '06. I moved over to Hell Descent for a while, but when that (briefly) shut down I moved here and kind of keep forgetting to go back to the new Hell Descent..
But yes, members come and go all the time, especially when boards close and merge. I know I was put off coming here after the merger if only because I disagreed with the decision and how it was made with no input from the staff at SHT. But as Ratio noted, it is a very messy topic and I won't delve further into it.

Quick question, though, Fungo has new boards? Is it the TwinPerfect Official Forums or something similar?

Yes, mine is similar as a story. I came right around the time it was born from a friend. TheFever and the admin for the old Restless Dream site I used to mod, brought me here because they knew Fungo. I was new to the SH community at that time as a whole because I just got internet in 2005, later '05.

I signed up on "Hell Descent" after it became the SHV forums. It was the SH0 boards before that. I think that was in '08 or '07.

I started my own SH forum in 2009 to go with my SHSM site and ended up merging with Ratio within a month. Then we asked Fungo and nur_ein_tier if they wanted to join their forums too and they agreed. I really like how big the community has grown since then it's more active then any of our forums were by themselves We have such nice forum members here and things stay really civil!

Hahaha this sounds like the merging patterns of big corporations. The vacuum effect and all. But it is really nice how active SHC is. Definitely strength in numbers.

I joined Hell Decent back when it was a SH Origins/Homecoming site. 2008 if I remember correctly, or maybe '07... Made a few posts there but then started back to lurking and just kinda forgot about SH lol. My interest in SH got reignited last year which is when I found out about this place somehow and registered here.

I kinda feel out of place posting here being a noobie to the forums (Joined March 2012) but I actually remember all these different forums that you guys have been talking about but back then I was a Massive lurker but Now I'm trying to make up for it by helping out the community whenever I possibly can. I actually lurked this forum for about a month before I decided to join and ever since, I've felt very welcomed by the community. Its good to be in a place where you can openly discuss opinions and theories about the different parts of the series and then having someone else to express their opinion without jumping down your throat. I'm glad I found this place
