OH MY GOD THAT IS THE BEST ROBBIE COSTUME I HAVE EVER SEEN. His face actually looks like, well, his face! His proportions are right on, his eyes are the right shape... I am completely floored by that outfit. And excellent pic you you/Claudia, Robbie and Heather... very fun pose! Please tell me you have more pics of that Robbie outfit?!

Also, as an aside, about 10 Silent Hill cosplaying friends and I will be going to the Mansfield Reformatory in a week. Its the sight that Shawshank Redemption was filmed. A few of them will be cosplaying Downpour costumes, which is amazing for the setting (I think its been said in interviews that the game was influenced by this movie, looking at pictures, the prison looks very similar). There will also be SH1, SH2, SH3 and Homecoming costumes there. The Robbie I previously posted will be there as well. Should be a fun group.

Here's some shots of my 'secret' George Sewell costume I made for the reformatory. I didn't really want to say anything online about it because I wanted it to be a surprise for another SH friend of mine who was making his Murphy costume.

I'll be sure to post links to more photos taken by others at the same location later. There were about 15 Silent Hill cosplayers there getting photos for about 4 hours

Here's some of my George (an one of Murphy). I still got some accuracy details to get fixed. (Patches exact, buttons, extra) But it still turned out really nice





The thing I will never get over is that this is the location Shawshank was filmed in AND its been said that Shawshank had a major influence on Downpour as far as inspiration. I really felt like I was there. It was an amazing experience on soooo many levels

A couple things: 1) I'm really behind on this thread, dammit, 2) I freakin' love your love of Silent Hill cosplay, 3) that George outfit is so rad if only for the wig (for some reason this costume reminds me of your Dahlia one cause you put so much emphasis of cosmetics along with the outfit) and 4) your set pieces for these photos are awesome. I have much respect for serious cosplayers. The amount of time, energy and creativity that must go into these things is admirable, to say the least.

Oh my, Avi. That is amazing. You can definitely see the correlation (especially in the second shot). His Murphy is very handsome (from what I can see). I can't wait to see more. You never fail to amaze me with your amazing costumes. I'm uber jealous of your awesome.

The amount of time, energy and creativity that must go into these things is admirable, to say the least.

The best part of it really is you learn more about the game when you cosplay. For instance. I remember there was a thread a ways back talking about the location of the prison and how all the Murphy Car Chase/Napier imprisonment went. People had asked something about getting caught in Boston and were talking about SH being close to there then. Doing Sewell I came to find that the patch on his arm said 'Maine' so that places the prison. I also found that the kind of symbol on his patch is used by officers in New York state and so is the badge. The designer must have been influenced by New York police or something.

As friend of mine is doing Anne and she found that the exact patch Anne has in the game is from a county in Pennsylvania.

I also didn't think about it till I made the costume, but George wears gloves. More than likely because he's a sneaky bastard. Which would have helped in him not getting caught in the murder of Frank.

Yea, he kinda did a double take. I told him I was bringing a Rick Grimes costume from the Walking Dead. And he's never seen the show, but he knows Rick's a police officer. And he saw me walking up and figured it was me (this is what he told me later btw). He was walking down some stairs at the time for a shot and I was walking up. So he only saw the top of my head. Then he said he saw the cupcakes and he got giddy for a minute and when I looked up at him when we met on the stairs he was instantly excited. It was such a great feeling.

The first thing his girlfriend said to me when she saw me from across a room was, 'Did you get cupcake pictures yet?' Then she proceeded to hit on me. I guess she likes some Kevin Bacon




Thanks so much guys for all the kind words. It really makes me happy when people know what I cosplay, let alone can share in my excitement of it being Silent Hill and these being wonderful characters!

I try. Especially when it comes to Silent Hill. The costumes can be so simple, but they really pop when you go out of your way to get all the little details right.
