Help! I'm stuck on a Boss! :(

Hello. This is my first time posting here... So yeah, I'm stuck on the

boss.

I'm playing Silent Hill 3 on Hard action mode for the ps2. (Not the extreme hard action mode.)
I have only 70 handgun bullets,12 shotgun shells, and 64 submachine gun bullets and the boss will still not go down. I have all the great melee weapons by the way, (the maul and the katana.) Anyways When I'm out of bullets, I have no other option but to melee her obviously, but when I do she keeps knocking me down by either headbutting or swinging me down with her arms! It's EXTREMELY frustrating... Also for health, I have only 1 first aid kit and 3 ampoules... and the bullet proof vest, if that counts.

How do I get through this boss battle? Some advice for this would greatly be appreciated! <:(

I'm thinking to give up because it's kinda boring the beginning of this fight, it takes to long to became interesting (real hard). I suspect will be a long fight, maybe 1h or more.

When in doubt use the maul get on the right side of her head and just go for it lol it does a lot of damage and she a has reasonable amount of stun time afterwards and with those kinda items you'll need it ... If I were you (*Quick note ALWAYS WEAR THE VEST YOU TAKE A LOT LESS DAMAGE AND THEREFORE HAVE A BETTER CHANCE lol sorry for the caps just had to make a point) I would go full force with every gun you have until your out of ammo then very quickly run up to her and smack her with maul once or if your feeling confident twice but no more than that then get the hell outta there and repeat until she's dead .... It will take a while (Its took me about 20 minutes on hard but it felt like hours) btw the katana does more damage but has a really short stun time so I don't recommend it

First of all, conserve your ammo for when she puts her head up in that viel. She heals herself then so you have to be quick and shoot her down. Save all the ammo for that.

Her arm sweep move when she comes down is easy to anticipate. In order to save yourself some health, push the square button at the right time before it hits you, to block it. Everyone forgets that you can block and stuff in 3. When she's down get as many hits as you can with melee. The faster weapon is the katana, but if you want something that packs a punch use the maul.

Then repeat.

Also, equip your health, like your ampolules to the R3 button since it's easier to heal yourself and only heal when you're in red with ampolues, because they will heal you to 100%.

Oh and one more thing, next time unlock the infinite sub gun or bullet adjust X 3 before playing through hard.

Shoot it 'till it falls forward, then hit it with the Katana or the Maul on the right side of its head. When it gets back up, run to the back and start shooting it again. Rinse and repeat.

I love all the replies I've been getting for advice on this boss, I've read all of them they're really helpful.

Your welcome and its no problem, In short the purple dot and as close as possible but as I mentioned above always wear the vest and get one hit in with the maul or two if you think you have enough time. But take in consideration everything said by Xuchilbara including everything about the health items and setting them to R3 for convenience.

The only thing you should use the handgun rounds for is stunning her so she falls down. When she falls, feel free to use the shotgun or SMG to take off a good deal of her health. Since this is on hard, she has substantially more health than she does in Normal.

Once you run out of ammo with the other guns, just use the handgun to stun and wail on her with the katana or the maul. You wanna hit her at least twice if using the katana, or just once (or twice if you're feeling ballsy) with the maul, then run back to the edge where you started out at and get ready to dodge the fire. All her attacks do insane damage, so try to dodge everything and don't try to get cocky, or you'll get hit.

It's very possible to dodge every attack and not get hit in this battle. If you have to, use an ampoule. Also take note that using an ampoule will give you unlimited stamina for about two or three minutes, something a lot of people don't know about. This will allow you to attack her more frequently with melee weapons. Don't be afraid to equip the vest either, as even though it slows Heather down, you can still dodge the flames on Hard with it on.

Ok well I just tried my hand at this boss again for like several tries and I'm really really really really frustrated right now. >:( I did what some of you said, I hit her only with the maul when I could get close to her face, (I can hit her only once and she won't hit me back, I was in front of her face in front of Claudia's dress. For some reason she won't hit me right here which is good.) I used all my bullets only when she was healing (when she was standing.)

After my bullets were gone, I think this was like in the middle of the boss fight, I could only melee her obviously. My health items were almost all out and her flames got me. (I equipped the healing items as well.)

Thus boss is really frustrating... Do you think with the healing items I have right now, I can kill god quickly like this person without the health bar? Try to find various Hard mode playthroughs and pay attention to how they dodge her attacks and whatnot. That's the best advice for now.

I was thinking guns has no effect on her when her's head is hidden, I was only using guns when she fall down. I remember killing her in about 20min in normal mode always waiting to shot her on the head only (sucker!), that's why I was calculating 1h in extra hard mode.

But I still prefer avoid her strikes without vest instead of drinking a lot of health - that way she'll get fat!

Ok. I'm going to try my hand at it again... Should I use the katana instead? I can hit her more with that, and I remember long ago defeating this boss on hard mode on the PC version with the katana in a situation like this...

Oh my god... Oh my god I finally did it. oTL; I BEAT HER...

I used the katana instead, When I could get a chance to hit her, I would swing my katana at her two or three times. I'm assuming the katana does more damage than the maul? Well it worked for me. So yeah. I really want to try and get the heather/sexy beam now. Do the number of enemies increase in hard action mode 1?

Number of enemies generally increases in difficulty. When you get to the alt. hospital and get the perfume, make sure you wear it as it'll attract more enemies to you.

Ok. Because I just started a new game on Extreme Action level 1. Been shootin every enemy with the unlimited sub machine. Great fun. Do you know how many enemies are in hard action level 1 or have a good guess? Trying to get 333 kills in one game... On regular hard mode I only killed like 4 monsters other than bosses. Have a lot more to go... oTL

part is going to be a Bitch. I did ok with it on hard mode but I can't imagine what its like in extreme. Any tips?

I'd take some time to get out from that house! The tricky roof and the run... My controls were malfunction, I got to fix it to go trough, with the pad I couldn't do it.

Well done with the boss, but I recommend, just for fun, you take some to see how hard this fight can be. It's cool dodge the flames when it gets real fast!

Also, like the people said, it's cool using the block to face hard opponents. The Team has done a good job in the gameplay of this Silent Hill.

You might get the 333 kills on this new playthrough you're doing, but it's not possible to get 333 in one run alone. I think it's two or three playthroughs minimum to get 333 total.
