You can't cry over split milk.

I am just hoping that the new patch will fix a lot of the problems, especially with the audio in SH2.

I've already stated how I feel about the whole debacle, but what's done is done. Maybe Konami and Hijinx can redeem themselves if they fix some of the problems. That would make me happy enough, I guess.

There's no patch size limit on PS3, so they theoretically could add the voices in via an update on PS3. I dunno about M$'s policies. It'd be a pretty big download though, even if they were compressed. I doubt it's gonna happen.

When this comes out you will have to let us know if it fixes all the issues and makes it worth buying the HD Collection because from what I have read before I am not interested due to all the bugs.

The thing I'm happy about already is that Silent Hill 2 (My first playthrough) is barely laggy inside buildings for PS3, but the outside areas are horrid. The new patch might help considering they're not rushing it out and it could take a week or two to come.

Obviously not, if it was present, it would've prevented a few problems.

Hmm, Konami has done price drops for both Downpour AND SH HDC already. HDC is only $29.99 at amazon, while Downpour is $49.99. Sort of alarming, but we already know why. Whether or not these prices are permanent and not just some special time period, I've no idea.

I preordered both of these bad boys. It's disheartening, but it happens. I always hate paying for DLC for a game for them to release a full "Game of the Year" edition about a year later with all of the content for the same price.

Blah... I just hope the games get fixed with this next set of patches.

That's not an automated response.

I'm sorry to be brash, but I wouldn't have paid any amount of money for the level-of-quality this HD collection shipped out in.

All that needed to be done with this remastering was to match or exceed the quality of the originals. We got neither. And with many quality remasters out there already, you'd expect the same here, especially considering these are two of your flagship titles. Again, at the very least, match the baseline set ten years ago.

With Konami being highly absent on the matter until now, delaying (and then not informing) Book of Memories, plus having the substandard level-of-quality for HDC that we got, you can understand the skepticism of any personalized, sincere response.

PS - I should clarify I know you had little-to-no involvement with this game's development. But I felt the need to speak up for the people here who are voicing heavy concern over any sort of patch/help to fix this title, with all things considered. I think for once in the Silent Hill fanbase, there's legitimate reason for this tone.

WORD!!!

Nope, I think there's going to be silence until the patches are about to release.

There's still a lot of problems with the audio, so hopefully they'll be fixed too, but the patch is already probably going to be quite large, so I don't know if there's going to be room, they have to fix 2 AND 3 remember.

There's still going to be a couple of pretty big issues with the HD collection if it's just lag and lip-syncing, but at least it'll be playable, it's impossible to properly soak up the atmosphere right now, and I appreciate that they're fixing it, but a few of the audio issues (primarily the weapons) fracture the immersion of the player as well. A dream patch for me would fix the lag, all the audio issues, add fog and add the removed audio, specifically the historical society staircase sound. I'd like the old voices for Silent Hill 3 as well, because two of the best characters, Vincent and Douglas, hold a lot of their presentation in their voices, but patching that in sounds pretty impossible in conjunction with the rest of the space-hogging fixes.

Also to add to this, the motion blur is really abused in the HD collection in both games and a fix for that would be cool. I'd rather have no motion blur than full motion blur almost ALL THE TIME.

Did you just quote yourself astro? Lol but I fully agree about motion blur thing I can't stand it and if ever I'm given the option to change it in any type of game I turn it off or down as low as possible

I hope your right man. But they already have their hands full with all these other complaints and I'm just guess but I think their more worried about the audio-sync and lag issues than these little things but who knows they could end up surprising us with some over the top patch that everyone will love

I made some overly positive comments around the net when I read about the patches being announced. I suspect a lot of people will appreciate the patches, but just haven't heard, or are waiting to see them in action. I don't think there's any way to get a mainstream discussion going in the gaming media, over a month after release. Only DLC can do that for a game, and even then it's rare. Some may addendum their reviews. But many won't. Many have a policy that their critical analysis is about the product at time of release. Some fans are the same.

There's some 'once bitten twice shy' going on with this announcement, perhaps. I suppose many are thinking, 'Will it fix the bug that bothers me the most.' For me I just want to play the game in the most fixed, definitive final version; I think i'm past worrying about what will and won't be sorted out. More is better; some would do.

It's noble to think the community should be just as loud at a time when there's not a major disagreement going on, but I don't think it's very likely. It grows to many times its normal size during a disagreement; everyone who ever swung a rusty pipe wants to weigh in. Look at the discussion over the nature of the Otherworld or the division over Twin Perfect's output and other such SH related topics Those predate the major HD collection or Korn arguments, but some of them are still contentious. These people love to debate. The debates have a long tail, and the cynics and naysayers are always the ones at the end of the tail still chewing away at it, long after the true believers have weighed in. I find it more endearing than frustrating, myself. It still comes from a place of advocacy for SH as a whole, 9 times out of 10.

I can say I'm excited to play a patched version of HD and Downpour. I can say that I like Love Psalm and I'm very curious to see how the Vita game turns out - it is an anomaly, and sometimes anomalous games end up really breaking ground.
