Looks like they are working on a patch after all. [UPDATE]

I've been casually looking around for solid information about it since I got my hands on it, if I haven't found the evidence you're referring to it isn't clear enough. Also, it isn't meant to be open to interpretation and analyzed like the games are, we shouldn't have to come up with theories about it, "a patch is coming to fix the issues" from a trustworthy source (preferably Tomm [since we know he interacts with the community]) should've been the definitive answer to the technical complaints people have from the start.

See Rationator's post on page 3. Konami put out a press release for it.

Yes, I got many game-breaking issues with Downpour. Framerates going down to nothing and the game totally freezing up, making me restart and lose save data, etc. I can't tell you how many times I rage-quit Downpour because I couldn't deal with the lagging/freezing, and then have to sit through ten minute loading times to restart.

Whoa, really? I hadn't heard anything of the sort for the PS3 version over at GameFAQs.

There was no confirmation when this thread was conceived, there's was only that one email.

Irrelevant, because him mentioning that confirmed it was coming (hence his "that's not an automated response" comment), and since then we have gotten a press release.

I've heard a lot of it, and a lot of people have mentioned it to me in emails because I did a couple gamefaqs guides for Downpour. I think it's been discussed here as well, and also on SHHF.

I think he was saying that when this thread began, there was no official confirmation, so what has happened since (press release) is irrelevant to any posts that existed before the press release.

I automatically assumed in the context of the conversation that you meant there was evidence before Konami's late statement. I'm not saying there's no evidence now, I was saying the communication was very poor until now, so complaining about it is valid.

Wow; that sucks. I hadn't heard it until now.

Except arguments and skepticism were still going on after the press release. Tomm confirmed the patch in his first post in the thread and decryed people saying that the patch wasn't coming/that it wouldn't do anything. It's a moot point now because we do have confirmation and yet people are still complaining about it. I understand complaining about the lack of communication until now, but the fact is they've told us it's coming.

Given the fact that the email response is so vague that's it doesn't even mention what product it's discussing, let alone any of the issues to be fixed with a patch, how can you fault anyone for greeting it with skepticism? Regardless, note the reaction to the official announcement stating plans to resolve two notable issues on both platforms has garnered a more positive reaction, though of course there's still disappoint over the multitude of other issues with the ports that the announcement doesn't mention any intent to patch. If you want a better response than that, promise us better patches, and live up to that promise.

I mean, they probably would, but they'd spit in the new one.

If I buy the HD collection, and the disc is wet out of box... I will know who to blame.

Does that look like spit to you guys? DAMMIT TOMM! I thought you were more mature than this?

The email only appears to be vague since the entire convo isn't in the OP. The guy who made the email asked about SH HDC and got that email in response, so there's nothing vague about it.

Regardless, there's no need for anyone to continue taking up a dickish tone towards Tomm or anyone else for that matter over this shit. Stop acting like little kids and just be patient for once.

Relevant because before he even confirmed the patch, he proceeded to say we choke in our own cynicism even though we did not have any type of official statements or confirmations about the patch before he stated it.

Please get your head out of his ass.

Actually no one is complaining about the patch anymore (i'm actually glad), now it's about tom's senseless remarks.

Lol mother post.

You can kindly escort yourself out of my thread with your typical troll drivel. Even though this thread got heated up before already, it's not about to devolve into yet another derailed flamefest. Maybe at GFAQs or some other garbage site, but not here.

ATTN, please read:

I believe all the more vocal bunch have gotten their word in about their relief, concerns, and responses related to this news, including myself. So regardless of how you took the press release, I think we all feel a little better getting our thoughts out there.

But for now there's little more to discuss about this until new information arises so I'd appreciate if we settle down the back-and-forth about this until we have more to go on. I'd like for us all to hold back so there's little chance of it devolving into an outright, unadulterated flame/slander war in the future.

Thanks though guys for not cussing, using caps or name-calling when you spoke your peace about this. Thank you Tomm for coming in this thread, too. It would be nice if you can provide future updates on this if and when you feel comfortable doing so.

I will stay if i want too. And my posts are relevant to the topic at hand so i don't see how your "troll" "derailed" comments apply to me, but as usual, you can't explain it.
You only dislike my posts and opinions very much which is something that's out of my hands.

If by "relevant" you mean "directly trolling", then yeah, but that's almost all of your posts in a nutshell. You never have anything positive to say about anything unless it's you praising the old games. I can't explain it? I already have before and so have others. It doesn't really have anything to do with me "disliking" your posts just because they're from you. For you to come in here and call Tomm's posts "senseless" even after he explained himself goes hand in hand with your other posts claiming all the fault should fall on his shoulders despite the fact he barely had anything to do with the development of the HDC.

But yeah, that's my last post on that matter.

Here:

I also have the right to be cynical when there's wasn't any official statement from konami (ONE email to ONE customer is hardly official) specially almost a month after the game being released. At this point, anybody would've thought konami wouldn't release anything.

I'd also say that this seems to be demanding a patch despite it already having been announced:

You would have to take back my sandwich if the meat is rotten and out of date, regardless if i yell and scream, it's your responsibility since you made it for me.

And this:

I've been casually looking around for solid information about it since I got my hands on it, if I haven't found the evidence you're referring to it isn't clear enough. Also, it isn't meant to be open to interpretation and analyzed like the games are, we shouldn't have to come up with theories about it, "a patch is coming to fix the issues" from a trustworthy source (preferably Tomm [since we know he interacts with the community]) should've been the definitive answer to the technical complaints people have from the start.

I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't insinuate I'm blindly following someone, because I'm not. Distaste for the lack of communication is valid; outright insulting Tomm for coming in to confirm a patch and wish that fans could be more levelheaded is not, in my eyes.

Er, you can only stay if the mods allow it, and I'm going to venture a guess that telling users to get their heads out of others' asses may not be taken kindly if it's done repeatedly.

Anyway, this is the last I'll say on the matter, as per Ratiocinator.

That isn't what I'm doing, and that isn't what I did. I defended Tomm because he clearly wasn't blaming the fans for anything, and all I stated was that it's valid to complain about the poor communication. It's like you're confusing me with someone else or something. I have legitimately no idea how you think I'm insinuating that you're blindly following someone, (Tomm I'm assuming)?

I don't see how mother is trolling in this thread? The topic has been beaten like a dead horse (not surprising), but if they're genuinely upset then how are they purposely trying to annoy you and derail a thread?

I don't demand a patch that has already been confirmed. I demand they test games more thoroughly in the future.
