There's no way Revelation is "coming soon". The latest from the producer says early 2013, and since they haven't officially established that date yet, it's entirely possible it will be pushed back even more.

As for what I personally want to see, I want Bassett to keep the canon story of the first film correct. I don't want to see any of that bs about the townspeople being dead, or Sharon being Alessa's daughter, or Dark Alessa being the devil, or the Otherworld being hell, etc. I know a lot of people mistakenly believed these things to be true in the first film, but the cast and crew have debunked these theories, and I'd like to see the official interpretation remain as it is. I suspect Bassett will do this (at least, in regards to Alessa/Dark Alessa/Sharon), because I asked him on his blog if he would keep to official canon involving her and her doubles, to which he replied "Gans was right". I doubt Revelation won't include retcons, but hopefully they're small things. As long as he keeps the core ideas of the alternate reality and Alessa intact, I'll be a happy camper.

It's already been stated not to be until later this year if not next year. Also, they're not going to even attempt to have it be exactly the same as SH3; it's an adaptation of the game with the first film's plot. Honestly, if you expect a film of a game to be the exact same thing, you're better off playing the game and not even trying.

You mean that Silent Hell thing? That wasn't the actual film score, I checked it out already. I think the closest thing to an actual movie soundtrack right now is my own rip, at the moment. I had an email conversation with Jeff Danna regarding an official movie soundtrack release, and he said there won't ever be one because of legal issues, which is why I have my doubts about an official release for Revelations.

Careful when you bring up the A word. That can start a ruckus in these parts.

Compared to last year, 2013 is soon. Soon-ish. Sooner? Anyways, yes, it is coming up. So it's technically correct to say it's coming soon. We're closer to it than we were last year. Huh.

I have high hopes for this movie and I won't make judgments until it's out, but still, the whole thing between Heather and Vincent worries me in terms of how strong Heather will be on her own. It's never a good idea when the main character in a horror flick has a significant other (or even just a coed costar) since the relationship between them is either romantic in the clunkiest sense (they share one or two lines of dialog that point out that they're a couple just for exposition's sake) or they imply "tension" between the two.

Haha, Alessa is my favorite character in the movie. I posted a theory on SHH a few months ago arguing that she and her doubles represent an inverted version of the Holy Trinity, with Alessa as God, Sharon as Christ, and Dark Alessa as the Holy Ghost. I typically have a lot to say about her movie version.

They turned him into some teenage love interest for Heather that she had known for quite a while, rather than some mysterious grown man from The Order. We don't know this for sure. This is pure fan speculation. Their relationship is heightened and more evolved, but there has been no confirmation of a true "love" interest.

Sean Bean referred to Vincent as Heather's boyfriend in an interview, so there's definitely a romance there. As to whether they knew each other before the movie's events, or whether Vincent has ties to the Order or not, that's never been either confirmed or denied. I'm sure whatever changes were made were done for a reason, though we won't know that reason until the film comes out. The only issue I have with Vincent's character is that his outfit deviates so much from the game character's (I really loved the game outfit), but that's a minor nitpick.

Bassett stated that he wanted to do more with Vincent's character, so he did have a radical change, but elements of the original--including some lines, I believe?--will remain.
