Now that it's out what issues prevented the original 3 cast?

I didnt hear anything different in SH2 besides the missing horn. SH2 music is all put together properly while 3 has all its music sounds split to form music and its all sloppy besides the OST music, mini boss music and cutscenes.

If you can't here any difference in the sound of the guitar right there in the opening scene where James reads the letter from Mary, the more power to you I suppose. That does nothing to change the fact that much of the music wasn't done properly in either game though.

Oh! I know that guitar thing but thats not really bad or that noticable. It was the same song but instead on electric guitar. Other than that and the horn, SH2 music is the same and 3 HD Col. not even being Akiras ambient music because you know, its not at the correct pitch, beat or rhythm. Tomm Hulett said you can revert it to classic but i could never get it too. I turned off 5.1 SS but still nothing. =/

It was VERY noticeable. This was one of my favorite songs from the OST and the redub probably wasn't even played by Akira (which is one of the issues here).

Not to me atleast. I understand re playing it for surround sound purposes but was not nessasary. and there is nothing you can really do about that. Its the glitched that really matters.

No, there's a lot more than those two examples just in what little I've heard though videos of these new ports. For instance, listen to the ambient music as it picks up after James walks though the gate, the PC version and the HDC.

Edit: fixed second link to start at the right timestamp.

The HD Collections I can bearly hear. Is it the cricket noise and that low hit that are missing?

My bad, I didn't have the second link set to start at the timestamp I intended. I've just edited my previous post to correct that, and here are links again, the PC version and the HDC. As for difference in volume, adjust the volume option on the PC video to bring the opening and closing of the fence down to the same level as the HDC video, and note the vast difference in the volume of the music between the two, which is far from the only difference.

I found out something a bit sad awhile ago. The original voice actor for Douglas, died before the original SH3's release. Could be one good reason..... :(

SH2's music and sound design is subpart to the original, specially the looping, it's badly done.
SH3 got it infinitely worse though

This has been a great read everyone, thanks! Man, I wished I had the lnow how to put the PC files into the 360 version like that. I very much missed the original voices in Sh3, myself, so this whole experience has been bitter sweet to say the least
