Freezing on the older model PS3!!!!!

I thought I was going crazy or something first I was like oh man It's the game so I took it back 4 copies later.... Same thing keeps happening!!!!! Then I was like it can't be my playstation because every other game I've played on it works!!!!!! So i kept deleting and reinstalling it but nothing has worked and I also have an older playstation but i don't plan on getting a new one because I love the old school games I have! I'm a huge silent hill fan and once I heard this game was in the making I reserved it!! I had it on reserve for over a year!!!! I was like man this game better be good for how many times they pushed the date back! But now I'm just so dissapointed with the end result. I see the story is really good and this game could be an awesome game if it wasn't for the tech issues I would love it but I can't even get past to the other world because it just completely freezes!!!!

The first otherworld? That really sucks. I have a 160Gig PS3 and I had only one freeze so far, first playthrough, after meeting the first bat monster thing. Anyway, sorry to hear. =0\

It just lags I don't know why it's freezing and I have an older PS3 as well. Once you get further in the game and play a 2nd playthrough I promise you it should not freeze so much.

That might not be true. I played through that game five times on the 320GB PS3 model that we just bought late last year and the game freezes up at least twice during a play through, never at the same place though, and all the very bad lag issues still just get worse and worse the farther into a play through I get. It is definitely an issue in the way Vatra programmed the game for it to have so many issues across this many PS3 models.

Hunteriaz that's exactly where it freezes on me too!!! And I swear I've played it like 20 times!!!!!! I think ill just see if i can take it back and get it on the xbox buy im still really dissapointed in how it ruined my experience for a game that just didn't reach its full potential.

I know Downpour's effects are taking the PS3 toward its upper limit, but I find it hard to believe that this game could stress a system with six CPU cores available to the game. My money is in the programming logic trying to utilize the system resources in ways they weren't intended to be utilized.

I have idea change resolution in options your PS3 to 576p and game is not freezing in this area. After this exit game and change to 720p you can play whole game, when game is freezing you can change resolution to 576p. It works so you cant try it, finally !!!
