Should this game get a sequel?

Claudia's dead, the cult is basically 100% underground now, at least what's left of it after Douglas told about the events of SH3, so she's pretty much safe and has moved on at this point. I would cringe vehemently if they announced a sequel to SH3.

NarooN wrote:Well 4 didn't really have anything to do with 2. There were just a handful of references to James is all. Frank, the superintendent, is James' dad, and I think someone mentions how James "disappeared" after he went to Silent Hill, but aside from that, not really a sequel to 2 in any shape or form.

Hey, it also proved that -all- the Sunderlands are a bit off their rocker. I mean seriously, his dad kept an ambylical cord for several several years in a box in his room and only began to think weird of it because it 'started to smell funny'.

To this argument though, I doubt they could do a logical sequel without taking into account that the Possessed ending is the canon ending.

Although I look forward to the day when we find out all the weird things going on in Silent Hill is actually an orchestrated gameshow put together by the UFOs.

Yeah, that's why James is never gonna be one of my favorite characters, way too much of a weirdo... Sticking his hands into a filthy toilet filled with who knows what, and not even washing his hands! Gross :?

Henry probably didn't have a personality (or was just too shy and disconnected for his own good), but at least Eileen was cute and likable and Walter was awesome. But Frank... yeah, James takes after his father already .

And I'm one of the few who takes the UFO endings as canon. If you think about it, they make more sense than any of the other endings do lol.

I just disliked him because he was just so dumb, I feel like James dropped out of the second grade or something. He's almost lovably stupid, but that doesn't make me like him.

I personally think all the TS protagonists were pretty dumb except for Heather. Harry was ok, James is really, like you said, pretty dumb. Almost all the cutscenes, he points out the obvious and a lot of the times, questions nothing that is going on. Henry, ahh henry, the man with no emotions really annoyed me how well he took everything.

Heather however, I thought she had the best personality and it really fit into the whole "I think im going crazy" aspect of the game. When she is scared, you can actually tell. When she is mad, you can tell. When James was mad, he just sounded pretty sarcastic the whole time. VA were not the strength of the TS SH games for sure.

I don't think this should get a sequel. SH2 was pretty wrapped up, so not that either. SH4 the same...SH games always seem to wrap things up at the end, so that's why its pretty obvious each game has a stand alone story except for SH1 and 3.

I don't think Harry was dumb at all, I really respected and liked him a lot because the only reason he went through all of that is because he really wanted his daughter back. The voice acting wasn't that great obviously, and due to hardware limitations, we couldn't get any facial animations or any fine detail like that, so it was a bit harder to get into the atmosphere and the mindsets of the characters.

Even then though, you can still tell how tired he was, how distraught and frustrated he was, and how confused he was depending on the circumstances of whatever situation he was in. And unlike that doofus James, he actually tried to question what was going on and tried to get answers as to how all of that stuff was going on at times. So Harry = win in my book, lol.

I knew I was in for a long day when James asked Angela how to get to Silent Hill - when there was only the one road. If she hadn't been there, would he have tried to go into the woods? Tried to swim to the bottom of the lake to find it?

I agree with Naroon on Harry, though I can see how he seems pretty dense after the third or fourth round of "Have you seen my daughter?" Heather on the other hand has been the best protagonist of any SH game, Team Silent or not. The Mason clan is a gritty bunch for sure, if there had to be a sequel to SH3 it should be a family passing-of-the-torch scenario to Heather's kids for killing a god.

I'd agree that Heather was easily the best protagonist of the first four games.

Yes, I also think that Heather was probably the best protagonist of the first 4 games, however, specaking of other characters, I have Maria on top of the list.

Wouldn't Maria have been an Antagonist? Out of the Antagonists, Walter, Maria, and Vincent were my favorites.

@Waverer Not to mention he had a map.

Heather was so great mainly because of the awesome performance miss Heather Morris put on. So much raw energy and emotion. Greatness.

I'd love to see more of Heather in another SH game. SH3 doesn't need a sequel, but it'd be great to see what Konami might do with her character now (a decade later).

No. To be honest, I think the Alessa storyline has been dragged out long enough, and a sequel will just be dragging it through the mud. Also, I think if she were in another game, I think it would be a cameo. I think the 'being pregnant with God' storyline is over for her (since we learned that the baby crying is actually canon, which points to the idea that Claudia was reborn, since she ultimately birthed God in the end). Regardless, I think it's a very tired storyline, as much as I loved it. I think we need to leave it where it is now instead of ruining it.
