EDIT: I heard a song by a female vocalist in the monastery; something about "you'll always find me?" Her voice was really, really soft.

This one? Anna Ternheim "Words of Love"

I thought their voices were similar. Makes sense now. :)

Thanks a lot, you two. I really appreciate that. I wish they'd release an official soundtrack with the licensed tracks included.

This is great exposure for these lesser known artists (and older artists).

That's the only plus side for me...Some of these are rarely known artists. Some of them are talented too.

All of them should have been considered in the trailer over Korn.

The Korn song has grown on me. It sounds like an outtake from "The Untouchables" album. Lyrically, it's not their strongest effort at all. I see why others don't like them, but I grew up with them and I still have a soft spot in my heart for them.

I really like that song by The Coals; I've been listening to it all day. :D

Born free is normally not a creepy song, It's sorta vanilla. But when played on phongraphs and portable radios in an atmosphere of solitude, it is so haunting. Pretty much like the dead are trying to tell you something.

Anna Ternheim is my new favorite singer. So beautiful and haunting. I feel like I'm driving in the rain...

I'm looking for one song in particular, It played on the radio in the bank, It was a soft acoustic song, sung by a young man. I think the song was about his gf, or rather something to with her. It's been quite the dubious task trying to find It for It's not listed on the soundtrack. Any help would be obliged thank you. For reference to this song you can hear It in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1rrsDIpn9Y

I wish I could find out the artist of "Heaven Won't Hold It Against You." Man, is that a great song... :/

The song you're looking for is James Vincent McMorrow's "If I Had A Boat." The game omits the vocal intro.

OMG, I didn't catch this the first time but:
REVEAL SPOILER
all these songs are literally MESSAGES from DJ Ricks to Murphy. Like, actual coded messages to try and alert him to his escape plan and stuff

I totally caught that. :D

REVEAL SPOILER
Each one of them refers to a unique moment of the story and holds a lot of deep symbolism. I find it very, very interesting, honestly.

Personally I like the korn song but it just didn't fit the game to me. All the other songs were so subtle and haunting really each felt like those singing the song were feeling the same pain, desires or torment as Murphy. the korn song was more like "wtf life sucks" the others are like "why does it hurt to exist?" Lol
That place haunts my dreams, and is always creeping into my thoughts. The farther away i pull from that town, the louder it calls to me. Even in death i know i will just end up back there. Silent Hill owns me... i can never escape...

The Korn song was NEVER featured in the context of the game. I mean, I like it a lot, but it really doesn't reflect the overall message of the game (and it shouldn't, really).

All of Korn's songs are "wtf life sucks." It's just them. :D

I agree with a lot of people about Anna Ternheim. Damn she is awesome. I want to listen to more of her stuff now.

REVEAL SPOILER
It's also great about the symbolism of said songs too. That is great

Unfortunately, I hate the Korn song being there. It's not a case of disliking Korn themselves - I actually like some of their earlier stuff - but that song just doesn't fit. A lot of people claim that it doesn't matter but to me it does. The credits roll and I have that to deflate the experience. With SH games of the past every aspect of it is important and the credits song closes the experience for me. A poor decision on that one. If other people like it they are entitled too but I just don't think it fits.

Yep, she's amazing and has lots of great material. I love her Fly Me to the Moon.

I was in a pharmacy last week and Today is a Good Day was playing.

Well, the Korn song is not really that much different from other vocal SH songs.

If people like the Korn then they're entitled too - I never thought the lyrics in the other songs were bland personally but the actual sound of the music, the sound of the vocals, the form and the composition style seemed to fit the nature of Silent Hill much better than Korn's song.

If you guys like it, all the power to you. I just wanted to make clear it isn't just hating it's more to do with the feeling of the music with me.
