I agree, she also did a pretty bang up job of making Mary actually sound sick since she makes her character sound really tired.

I think she was a terrible choice. Mary/Maria is supposed to be 25, not in her 40's. I wish she had done Claudia instead. I also felt it was gimmicky to have Angela's VA do Claudia. This isn't about "homage" so much as what sounds right.

Mary E. did an amazing job as Mary/Maria in this game. Also worth mentioning is Ernest's new VA, that guy hit the ball outta the park, went and got the ball, went back to the field, and then THREW it back out of the park.

I definitely agree with you there. I've thought that ever since she was introduced in the SH3 OST. She did such an amazing job reciting the little lines Claudia said in game. So I was actually quite saddened by the fact that she didn't get that part this go around.

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn was the casting director and producer of the new VOs so I think she just... picked one that had her name already attached to it.

I could've swore that the character was named and modeled after her. I read that someplace.

Or maybe I made it up. O.o

Still haven't played the sub scenario, but it's cool that it's Travis. I like how Mary picks her friends, but also makes sure they work for their characters.

I'm 90% sure that Laura is Kate Higgins, which is awesome.

Yeah, the new voices have totally made me overlook any sort of graphical shortcoming. I'm only about a fourth of the way through 2 because I've been playing 3 as well.

But my favorite redone scene thus far is the mirror scene with Angela and James.

You can -really- feel how disturbed Angela is mentally. She swings from really depressed to "You're a werido" vibe when James mentions mary is dead to my favorite the "don't touch me!" psychological snap she has. It's all so very fluid and almost hauntingly realistic. I really am totally coming to a new appreciation for Angela's character now that she's being acted properly.
