Oh wow, they've pretty much COMPLETELY dismantled everything that made the atmosphere so great in SH3. There better be a saturation and gamma option, cause I'm turning it up all the way.

Yeah SH3 looks pretty abysmal. No fog, no rust in that area, everything looks washed out and too clean. Might not be picking this up after all, especially after hearing about the framerate issues.

I have this pre-ordered. I considered canceling it after seeing this video a few weeks ago, but I'm a sap for Silent Hill. SH2 looks great. SH3 has been completely killed. Ito looked at a side-by-side comparison of SH2 classic and the HD version and he was appalled. Some of the grime and dirt has been cleaned up from the original... a lot of his art has been removed. I really don't know why.

I'm still anxious to hear some of the SH3 voices. I'm still hoping for the classic ones to become free DLC or something. SH3 was Richard Grosse's final voice and mo-cap performance (as Douglas Cartland); it seems so disrespectful to cut part of his performance out of the game completely.

To be honest the lack of fog in the amusement park area from Silent Hill 3 makes it look almost unfinished and what's with the really nice looking iron grating, the rust is all gone.

I got that feeling to. I agree with what i that there is no great difference.

I honestly don't remember the quality in the originals being quite that saturated and grainy. I quite like the more muted colors and smoother look of some of the environments, but the total absence of any fog or rust at all in others is not okay. That carnival looks entirely too clean and safe apart from the bloody bunnies, and the forest in SH2 is not nearly as menacing when you can see where you're going.

I'm still going to receive my copy with open arms on Tuesday (after all, I'm with what - the new voices are what I'm REALLY interested in!) but I hope there is a feature in the options menu to include fog and rust.

Oh! I just watched again and I noticed Heather's freckles and tired-ness are gone. Why? I liked her appearance before, no real girl looks like an airbrushed magazine ad and she represented that perfectly.
