LP Downpour videos of all over youtube (Good for marketing?)

Just noticed the large amount of Let's Play videos of Silent Hill Downpour.
That's great for the marketing

What do you guys think?

I've always seen Let's play's as away to judge weather or not I should get the game.

For example shortly after Red Dead Redemption came out I wasn't sure if I should get it. Looked on YouTube saw a couple of Let's plays and liked what I saw. Know It's my No.1 favorite game ever.

Tomm Hulett said that this sort of thing is actually bad for game sales, so I'm not doing it personally.

I'm doing it, but I'm going to wait to upload the bulk of my LP until a few weeks have passed.

I've never watched an LP, but I don't like youtube.

I hope SOMETHING gets word out; not a lot in the way of advertising or any kind of promotion, it seems.

Despite IGN giving it a low score, they're still parading the banner around.

I used LP videos to get me through "Fear Effect" recently; some are fun (depending on the player). Personally, I don't think it will hurt sales. Many gamers still like to experience a game for themselves (some people, however, enjoy letting others think for them).

I won't be able to get the game for a bit (got other stuff to buy first), but I'm gonna try to stray away from any LP's or anything. And most LP's suck since the commentary either doesn't match the game or just isn't entertaining.

I came across a funny LP of a couple of German guys (speaking in broken English) playing Downpour when I was looking for a clip of the shower scene to show my friend today. It was quite humorous, to say the least.
