Downpour OST track listing

Post by The Gentleman on Thu Feb 09, 2012 7:07 am

Having looked at the track listing for Daniel Licht's soundtrack, I thought I'd post a thread for any speculation or observations.

Track List:

1. Silent Hill – by Jonathan Davis
Score by Daniel Licht:
2. Intro Perp Walk
3. In The Ravine
4. Bus To Nowhere
5. Meet JP
6. Stalking For Dinner
7. Don’t Go in the Basement
8. Railcar Ride
9. Downpour Intro
10. Jump Monster
11. Monastic Tendencies
12. Clowning Around With Monsters
13. Welcome to Devil’s Pit
14. Basement Fight
15. Cablehouse Blues
16. Town Rain
17. The Caverns
18. Monastery Otherworld
19. The Downpour

For example, I noticed 18 might pertain to an alternate monastry later in the game. The fact it has it might have it's own track might make it a particularly significant area in the game.

12. Clowning Around With Monsters
12. Clowning Around With Monsters
12. Clowning Around With Monsters

Wut.

Is it just me, or does the majority of this just seem to pertain to the areas shown in the trailers? This seems partial.

Didn't we already have something of an estimate for how long the game roughly is? I don't remember the numbers but IIRC it was definetly longer than Homecoming, plus we have optional [missable] sidequests, meaning there has to be at least some more room to explore than in Homecoming as well...?

Definetly not listening before playing the game, I'm sure I'd be so biased if I did...

Hey. I just readed that three of the OSTs are performed by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. Cool, huh? :)

Plus: the track from the first trailer without ingame sounds or voices.

I see what you mean but to be honest most of the Silent Hill games have been pretty short. I've finished Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 before in barely 3 hours. Of course playing through a new Silent Hill game will typically last a good 8-10 hours or so because we love to take our time exploring everything and the experience is all new and unknown. I predict Silent Hill: Downpour will last around the sametime as the previous titles. Fortunately Silent Hill: Downpour apparently has plenty of replay value I've heard that there will be
REVEAL SPOILER
roughtly 5 different game endings
unlockable costumes/items, side quests of course and a "Making Of" feature has been confirmed.

Yeah, short OST doesn't necessarily mean a short game. Some portions of the game will probably be silent or filled with more ambient, subdued tracks. SH1 was like that (particularly when running around town). And yeah there are probably other tracks being held back like with previous games.

From what i heard from Vatra, they said that side quests are gonna take between 15 minutes and an hour. So if you run the whole game, it will take you about of 15 hours the first time. Once you replay it and know what to do maybe you can make it in a half of that time.
