I am getting this day one, it's payed off and everything. God I cannot WAIT for this!
I'm glad I am finally able to see some gameplay without any spoilers xP I've been dying to watch a lot of these videos but refuse to do so in fear I might spoil to much. Though it kinda sucks that I know how to get into the police station now :P

Some things I like:
I love the old item collecting sound again.

The map was pretty cool xP I love the whole "Book" look it has. If I was in Silent Hill, I would use a journal like that as well, in a way it makes it feel more real!

It certainly has a feel that the old games have. It'll never be like the old games but to me, that's a good thing. Games need to evolve, and this one finally evolved into something nice. I can already tell I'm going to enjoy this game so much more. In all honesty, other than 2, I never really cared for the main stories. What I absolutly loved was was finding out the history behind Silent Hill and the locations it had.
Example: Silent Hill Orgins Spoilers
REVEAL SPOILER
Travis from Silent Hill Orgins. The main quest to find out about the cult didn't seem like it was anything more than to drive the character forward. The game seemed to mostly revolved around Travis's back story and the back story of the town's locations. I was more interseted in the patients of the hospital, in the Sanitarium It showed some of the backstory of not just Travis' mother, but all the other patients around her as well. I loved how it went into some depth of the plays and tragicy that happened in teh Artaud Theater. Finally, I loved how they didn't just focus on Travis' dad but showed all the other people in the motel rooms next to him. Showed people's true personalitys in the rooms themselves.


So I hope to hell Silent Hill: Downpour really IS about the exploration and discovery. I really want to find out more about my favorite town of Silent Hill

Something else that I loved was that they finally went back to the sudden drop pits. I missed that really and I know homecoming had it, but that game wasn't up to pare so I'm glad it's back again.

I don't know why, but I'm really not liking the way this game looks. The more I watch of it, the more I get a bad feeling that it's going to disappoint. I hope it surprises me, but I don't know...something feels...off.

I love how he unlocks the trophy "Silence is Golden".
Take your own advice, game!

I really dig the town's the design though. Not so much that of the enemies from what I've seen so far.

Looking pretty damn good. The atmosphere seems very eerie here. I haven't felt that way about a Silent Hill game in many an age, so if the game delivers more of this it will be a win in my book.

The only thing I don't like is the balancing bits with Murphy going across the planks. We've seen a few of these and it seems like it could get annoying (although on the other hand the character animation on that section is very nice).

It seems like Vatra are putting a lot of effort into this and while there's no guarantee they'll pull it off, I think they chould be congratulated for really trying to push the boat out on a Silent Hill game.

BTW did anyone notice Murphy seems to have a police radio in place of the usual static radio? It's a nice touch if that's the case. Distorted voices playing whenever a monster gets close could be spooky.

The intro track of the game was posted on soundcloud today! While I don't like the look of the game itself, the music is absolutely beautiful. Different, but Licht is a great composer. I really can't wait to hear the rest.

I can imagine this as a fear-device; like at an early point while balancing one of these it will almost give way above an abyss and you're left for the rest of the game balancing above these chasms wondering if and when it'll happen again.

He's stating the parts where you're walking over a beam, will most likely be used to make the player feel uneasy. Probably at some point those beams might actually break, or you might be involved in a quick time event to keep murphy from falling, all in an attemp to keep the player on edge.

On another note, i initially stated that i would turn off the flashing effect of the items, but it seems that now, i'm going to keep that effect on. The items actually blend too well into the enivironment...that's not really a fault of the game itself, i just want to make sure i don't miss anything. I'm liking what i'm seeing thus far from this game...
Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding....these are the basic fundamentals of life....

i hate spoilers because i love them... i really love to see them but i hate to spoil the game for myself... and it physicaly hurts to try not to click on that "reveal" button. sorry for my bad grammar, im swedish.
