Present Characters

Thanks to Whitney for originally posting the link to the Dengeki preview.

It appears that the characters that we see on this page will be exclusive to the male version of the main character, according to the article.

They are (from left-to-right, top-to-bottom) [*]:

Main character's girlfriend "Katie Collins".
Main character's colleague "Derek Copeland" (the guy with the glasses).
Katie's ex-boyfriend "Trent Baker" (the guy wearing the orange hoodie).
Main character's little sister "Naomi".

[*] Note that the exact spelling of the character's name maybe slightly different.

The article does not say that they are playable, and only that they are appearing characters when the player registers the main character as male. The article implies that different characters will appear when the main character's gender is female, thus adding to the replayability.

I'm really not a big fan of the character designs in this game. It looks so...kiddish. Also, one of the monsters in one of the screenshots looks like a monster from The Suffering. You know, the big, fat, grey guys that take hundreds of bullets to kill? Ah...I miss The Suffering so much.

Only thing holding me back: waiting to see if Vita performs better in U.S. than Japan. Stagnant sales in Sony's home country are truly concerning...Japanese have turned their backs on Sony, it seems

The handheld has only just come out recently in Japan. It's a little too soon to be citing doom for the Vita

I dunno why everyone's talking about the Vita's performance in Japan being bad as if it's shocking. All they have to do is release good software, then the sales will ramp up. People are still buying PSP's and DS's, both of which are doing better than the Vita and the 3DS. It's because of software. The moment they release a Monster Hunter or God Eater game on Vita, the Japanese will eat them up.

I hated those things in Silent Hill 3. Their habit of blocking narrow hallways and such.
Now at this point I need to resist making a "Run Fatboy Run" reference.

The insane cancers, hated them, stupid over-sized doughboys. I hated them and all the ridiculous amounts of HP they had.

Sorry for the late reply, but yeah, I can see where they look like Insane Cancers...but it's strange, right when I saw it I instantly thought of the...uh....OH! They're called Festers. Just remembered that. Speaking of which...they need to make another game of The Suffering.

I think they zoomed out overhead view is just an excuse so they don't have to come up with better design.

The chick with the book reminds me of Lauryn from the comic Silent Hill:Dying Inside.
