True, it's probably not a good example.

Though you got to agree that once they go to church that it's not a SH movie anymore.

Nah, I disagree. For several reasons. But I would rather blog or vlog my reasons.

Yeah, post the link for us!

What is Silent Hill anyway? There is no storyline between the games (sequence) and nor a clear storyline inner the game. So there is a little freedom for the storywriter. That's one aspect.

Two: Silent Hill will be what the fans says so, the creators have just open the doors for us. But the film team it's a writer, director plus some collaborators. The film will be their view of Silent Hill.

Tree: a person is smart, people are dumb (Agent K). You can't complicate a $ 50 mi movie...

I don't think a end of the movie like this would work: Alessa rounding and rounding and she running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, running, turn, shot, THAT'S IT! Now we listen to a loooong letter about something and the final credits...

Course, everybody got some personal correction to the movie. I think the nurses were underestimated, including the last one. Will be hard not braking the rhythm, but I miss a longer fight with nurses and a dialog with Lisa. A part of the long speak of devil child may be change for some tips droped before - usually people don't understand, but the movie get's better.

If that's true everything Twin perfect says is correct, and so am I even tho I contradict them.

That's why I said aspect, and you cannot isolate one aspect. This one is a sociological aspect. There is a common perception of a public release that is registered in several documents, like faqs and magazines. This is "the" Silent Hill, we cannot deny. But there is also another aspects, and I don't see contradiction, the movie is a little away from our Silent Hill, but is still Silent Hill.

Those that still don't feel in home in Silent Hill's movie are like Sheryl in Shattered Memories! No offense... ;-)

Why would you think that? Because they haven't set a release date?
There could be numerous reasons for that.

Is it normal either for a direct-to-DVD release to put out as many press shots? It'd be unfortunate if it were, but all-in-all, I'm still pretty stoked for this.

Are you thinking about a DVD release before cinema? Don't think so because is a 3D producion. It also need's a blu-ray release to see in 3D at home.

Here some movies take some months to be released on DVD, sometimes never in Blu-Ray.

Ugh I hate all of these game fans bitching about the movie already. Saying how they'll "boycott" it.
Some people seriously need to grow up -.-

I love it when you get angry! Maybe you can teach us quoting who says what. I believe I made myself clear about: I'll see this movie even if they release in videocassette.

:? I'm almost contradicting my own topic!

This is some "fan mail" Michael J. Bassett recieved:
-"i actually will see it just to torture myself and cringe at how awful it is"
-"There’s going to be a teen Vincent who’s Heather’s boyfriend, because we know we cannot have a teen girl protagonist without AN EPIC TEEN LOVE STORY. And it’s not like Heather could protect herself from the evil monsters, she needs a man to protect her! Movies must send the right message to the audience, you know. Oh, there wasn’t a love story in the original? Well, this must be immediately corrected! And it’s good they changed the gender of a parent in the first movie, because parenting is too feminine for a man, and it’s so awesome they included Piramid Head in the story, because how can you have Silent Hill without PH! Hollywood knows what’s good for you, why don’t you listen to Hollywood?"
-"i’m going to see revelations for the sole purpose of being one of the first people to complain about it
i’m going to sit in the cinema
making a list of the things i hate in it"

etc.

Wow! You should have posted this before, now I know what are you talking about. I can speak for myself: I do not agree with these guys. I stop making pre-judgments in this way, movies are art, and art can surprise us. Even I still think we don't have the best chance we may like it to have, I'll sit in the cinema and see from beginning to the end. I just can't go with my spirit totally disarmed, but nobody is perfect!

Trollbait.
Epic trollbait. All of it. And my hate.

I honestly loved the first movie, and I think I will love this one. I mean, what's the point in making a movie if you make it exactly the same as the source material? Really, there would be no point in watching it. The first Silent Hill movie followed the feel of the series while making a new storyline to follow, and I hope this one will expand on the first movie's storyline, as it left with a pretty big cliffhanger. To me, it is one of the best video game to movie adaptions ever made. I loved Postal (sorry, but in my opinion, Uwe Boll isn't THAT bad of a director, guys). The only movies I hated based on games were Resident Evil. I watched the first one and wanted to kill myself. The second one was a little better, it at least had SOMETHING in it besides well...nothing. Haven't even bothered to watch the rest (except for Degeneration, which is decent, but then again, it's based on the game series). Oh yeah, Mortal Kombat was a pretty good game movie too. But, yeah, I'm really looking forward to this movie and have high expectations for it. I am looking forward to it more than Downpour and Book of Memories, that's for sure.
The strange creatures you see are Creatures.
