The first time, I walk around trying to reach the little house behind the pool (the apartments). The door is in the map in black - as unexplored. It seams to me that this part where "closed down" from the final version:

Isn't there an implied cut-off area in the hospital basement as well with a sound coming from the other side or am I confusing 2 with 3?

No, that was in two. That area is fenced off.

I don't know about it being removed from final versions, I always just figured more stuff is added to make things look more realistic. There's a lot of areas you can't explore, but are put in to make the areas look more complete.

Huh....you know I never actually noticed this out of allllll the times I've played! This was the ONE area I never bothered to stick around in except for getting the coin in the pool and going to the other section of the first floor rooms. I will definitely have to look for this my next playthrough!

I tried some many times and ways to get in that room it's not even funny. Cause like gustavopi said, it looks unlockable on the map. What is this trickery?! Kind of unrelated, but Amy: Weren't you the first to discover the church in the middle of Toluca Lake?

Nope, it was the fellow that went by "Pyramid Head" on silenthillforum.co.uk. I just took more pics of it and tried to help others find it by offering save files.

I used Silent Fly program to get James past the fence (moving his character coordinates forward just slightly). No, you can't get in. Probably just pool toys in there, anyway..
