SH2 Cardboard Promo Display. Need help.

Post by Bloom on Wed Dec 28, 2011 6:31 pm

Hello everyone, I am new to these forums but have been a huge SH fan since the beginning. On a random whim, during my drinking stooper Holiday fun, I remembered I have had this Promo Display in my possesion for over 8 years now. Its in very good condition besides some minor bumps on the bottom of the cardboard display and a single scratch near the top. It is Double Side with the exact same image. I was hoping someone would have an idea of what its worth.

Thanks for your time.

PS: Feel free to send me a private message any time.

Wecome!

I doubt an actual value can be determined, and i don't remember ever seeing this around, if you're planning on selling it I guess it comes down to dumb luck wether or not people are going to want to pay a lot for it or not...it's pretty cool to have though, I wouldn't sacrifice dinner for it but I'd hold onto it if I were you. About how large is it?

It is approximately 2ft 8in tall, by 2ft 3in wide... And ya ive had it for quite some time and I think its an awesome thing to have. Considering its in really good condition still after all this time I think I would get a good deal on it if someone were willing to pay for it.

That's really cool, never seen one for sale before! You could probably get at least $50 for it! Are you putting it on ebay?

Ya, I got it about 8 years ago or whenever the game came out back then (i forget). I would frequently go to my Hollywood Video store and me and my friend would frequently talk to the store manager. I just asked one day if I could have it and he said sure. On a cooler note, remember when Metroid came out for the Wii? Well they had like a 5'5 Foot tall cardboard display of Metroid. He got to take that home, but then his parents made him throw it away for some dumb reason. That would prolly be worth more than this Cardboard Display I have now. But In both cases seems that they are pretty rare. Im still not sure if I wanna hold on to it, or sell it.

And ya I was thinking about putting it on Ebay, im still not sure yet as to what I wanna do. I think its badass and a awesome thing to have. Maybe if someone offered the right price who knows. It has sentimental value , and I liove the Soundtrack to this game the most. Anyways still trying to decide as to what I should do......

I sent you an e-mail with an offer sometime back. I'm sure you got it and simply didn't agree to my amount but:

It seems you've answered your own question about whether to keep or sell it. I've learned over the years that if it has sentimental value the seller either a) doesn't actually want to sell it or b) will only sell it for a much higher amount because that sentimentality puts added appreciation that doesn't reflect to someone else who has no sentiments attached to it.

Best of luck whichever way you decide to go with it.

Im sorry I never got an e-mail from you. Im sure I would of seen it, maybe you typed it in wrong or something? I understand how just cause it has sentimental value to me that doesn't drive the price higher to someone else. But that doesn't shed the fact it is a rare item.

No worries, you did get my e-mail. We spoke a week or so back after I first sent out that e-mail last December. :) Hope you're excited for Downpour and HD collection... only a few more days/weeks to go!
