Really great experience during the winter season.

Post by Smiley on Thu Dec 22, 2011 5:15 pm

When I first got this game it was snowing heavily where I'm at. Even this year I'm still having fun playing this game through the holidays. The atmosphere and tension really add a lot when you have outside influence taking part in the chills. Sadly I also live in a deserted area that has little rain if any so Downpour might not provide the same kind of additional weather immersion that I get when playing this game. Regardless, I wonder if gamers ever play these games on special occasion. Not necessarily at night, but when the weather is at its worst?
See you in hell cupcake.

I know what you mean, I first played this in Winter as well and the dark and cold outside helped the mood.

Great. I'll play this during a snow storm, then when I'm walking back from work next, I'll end up running across the parking lot with my cell phone out like an idiot, expecting raw shocks to be chasing me.

I can tell about... I play this game at night, stormy outside and my dog was crazy with something. Only me, the TV and big stereo. Course I didn't sleep well that night after the game!

Why? Can't you buy it from E-bay or Amazon? What's your video game?

I don't have a Wii or a PS2. And I'm either too lazy or too paranoid to use eBay or Amazon...maybe a bit of both, come to think of it.

You can try some gymnastic like the little girl of your avatar...

I bought a game for Nintendo DSi these days so cheap that I hope he was able to pay the shipping at list! It was in Hong Kong - near by you. You can do it, come on... be a man, Metal...

I played Shattered Memories back in winter. Winter in Scotland. And at the time, I stayed in an RV with no heating. So I was freezing. It did add to the chill of the game, almost like the cold was coming from the TV itself.

I'm not so sure I got to that part - I got up to the part where you're in the wheelchair at the hospital, then decided to take a break. When I came back, I had no save, as if I had never saved it :'( I got so frustrated I haven't restarted the game since, but I plan on it.

But yes; It was an intense experience :p

Oh, I should add, I had the settings so that when the phone rings, it would ring out of my Wii Remote speaker, like a normal phone. So here I was, freezing in the woods (my RV was right next to the woods too), searching for Cheryl, holding my "phone" to my ear and hearing fuzz and voices =D

I only discover this part at the second time (after ending once). This is not a linear game, you need to play it a lot to see and hear all. After end it the first time, try to get out of tracks and explore the field...

Aye I tend to do a lot of exploring in Silent Hill games, it's a pity most of them don't let you explore so much.
