Still missing the point. You're complaining about people going into a discussion about rip offs being "stupid" when people could easily say the same thing about your topic regarding multiple dimensions.

But hey feel free to continue this dull Victim Complex game you're playing as your posts thus far have made pretty clear you're only here to troll and you do a rather a shitty job of keeping that incognito.

I am not and never have been here to troll. I don't step on anyone's toes, and I have very pleasant intellectual conversations with many of the users.

And the argument IS stupid. There is no right answer, yet people are bickering about who is right and who is wrong. And tbh it's off topic. The topic was meant to be about what we think about him. When someone says "He looks like a ripoff to me", that doesn't mean other people are allowed to start a massive, juvenile argument about their statement. But then again, this IS the internet.

And my topic was on topic with my topic, which completely changes your statement to a falacy.

Give it a rest your posting gimmicks are fairly obvious and your topic in the Shattered Memories board showed you acting like an abrasive douchebag unnecessarily when people were merely talking with you normally. Not too hard to pick up on.

You don't decide the course of the topic nor does it revolve around you. This isn't Silent Hill Heaven. Posting is a bit more relaxed here so long as you don't erupt into mass spamming (and no this recent discussion is not an example) or flaming. Let the staff worry about that sort of thing. Don't like it? Find another topic or board to post on. Discussing multiple subjects in topics is far from uncommon here (would you expect anything less from a Silent Hill forum?).

So to stop the back and forth argument for a sec and actually talk about the raincoat hammer guy thing.

I like the look of it. I like the gas mask. Ever since HL2 I have always liked the look of gas mask. I also liked the all black leather look. So I can't wait to see what part he has to play.

You're perfectly right. I take your posts too personally. It's the internet, and people's opinions shouldn't matter anyway.

I'm just going to ignore you from now on then so we don't have to start arguments all the time. It would be polite, though, if you wouldn't needlessly try and create one yourself with me anymore. I mean, if you don't agree with me, that's fine. But come on...quit hounding me just to turn a legitimate discussion into a hurpadurp fest.

Yeah, we can't legitimately judge him until we play the game thoroughly. But my first impression isn't one in the thing's favor, lol.

I mean, it would have been better if they didn't show him at all in the trailers, IMO. That way, it wouldn't seem like they were trying to make him so integral to the game.

Maybe he's not even important at all, but rather a side-quest or something...who knows?

Maybe he is important, that doesn't necessary mean that he'll be PH wannabe. I think the developers mentioned there won't be some PH look a like monster.

So, we talk about his design most of the time, but what about other stuff.
For example how he goes "Shhh" and strangles a little kid and Murphy isn't able to stop him, that's pretty fucked up. Some people mentioned that maybe the nun is simply praying, but I still think that Gas mask "thing" works for her. If it doesn't it would knock her out of the way. Like some people mentioned, in the part where he picks up Murphy and throws him you can see the nun's hand. Again, if he doesn't work for her why doesn't he just knock her out of the way.

One more thing I like about our gas masked friend is that we don't even know what's behind the mask. Is it a human, a monster, maybe nothing at all? Who knows. That and stuff what I have seen so far makes him mysterious.

taking past SH games out of my mind for a bit, the hammer man doesnt seem all that but i would have to say that the gas mask just doesnt scare me. the hammer doesnt even scare me either, not as much as the great knife scared me. The big suit is what is scary and his size is intimidating.
However, he reminds me of Psycho Mantis from MGS and that guy was the boss. So, yeah, MC Hammer may not be as scary as Pyramid head, but at least he looks like a bad ass ;) And I guess that's cool, too.

I just really hope that there is going to be some abstract creature! Please please please!

Ok, so enough about my wishing . . . the MC Hammer guy could very well be one out of many MC Hammer guys. I still think that we are seeing a trend of masks in this game. The wheel chair thing has a breathing mask thing that almost looks like the gas mask of MC Hammer.

No, you're right. It's nowhere near as blatant as Origins or Homecoming reusing monsters from older titles which long stopped being scary.

Having said that, the enemies we have seen so far are pretty generic as well. The weird alien guy, the lumbering thing with dread locks and claws like Freddy Krueger. I really hope they present some truly creative and disturbing imagery even close to being as inventive as Team Silent's.

I take that as a reference to Murphy's crime. I still think he was either a child molester or killed a kid or something. So maybe the Gasman does something to that effect in the game to freak you right the fuck out.

But then if that's what the monster is doing, it's yet another copy of Pyramid Head's MO... :? Just sayin...

I'm not saying he's a copy like the Bogeyman was, or a wannabe like the Butcher.

I have a theory that Murphy's family was killed and that he took revenge on the person/s who killed them. That part might represent how he's unable to save someone, first encounter with Screamer might also be symbolism how someone died because of his mistakes.

That is just a theory though, I might be completely wrong.

Sounds possible.

I think that they may be going to make it pretty ambiguous and that your ending reflects his crime. Like, if he's a child molester based on your gameplay decisions, you get a BAD ending, etc. If that was the case, then your theory could be a possible ending and such.

That would be pretty cool...bring back elements of SH2's psyche profiling system and blend it with SHSM's.

Pyramid's role in the games embodies the essence of what a horror movie should be like, so to incorporate that same level of fear, i think anything could be compared to Pyramid Head. Pyramid Head makes us realize our deepest sins and fears, and that's like what a lot of David Lynch's movies do . . . So, MC Hammer has a break on this one.

There are still a few other upcoming horror games like Amy to look forward to. While real horror games have always been a niche genre this gen they just don't have the support they used to so at least the Silent Hill series is still kicking.

Is that what it's called? I mean the long-armed and long-legged thing that stalks Murphy in the first Downpour trailer where he takes refuge from the rain in some house. You can't really make out what the monster's supposed to be but it looked rather generic and uninspired.

EDIT: Just realized, Weeping Bat is the shrieking mummy right? No, that would be the dread with the Freddy Krueger glove, as I called it.
