yeah it was a pain and tbh I never completed SH4 just because of this - I think its one of SH titles i'll no doubt have to return to at some point just to get any story made from it but it was very off-putting for me personally I just never felt like it was going anywhere or I was achieving anything within the game... But oh well we love SH so we play anything with the SH sticker on it eheh....

I've never had any problems playing through The Room.I've completed it well over 20 times tbh,and always find it involving and entertaining. Its flawed yes,but you are missing out on a great deal by not seeing it through to its conclusion. Some of its level and sound design are among the best in the series IMO. Forest world for example is outstanding, and its also unique in the Silent Hill universe.

You owe it to yourself to give it a chance. ;)
From the surface to the air,I was suddenly hurtled.

I finished it, but whenever the credits play, the game freezes. It's nice to get the good ending.
I love the Silent Hill Series. The new games did nothing wrong whatsoever, they were developed well, and did things different. I believe that Silent Hill Downpour will make all Silent Hill fans happy. Team Silent doesn't exist, but their series does.

I've finished it twice. Got the "Mother" and "21 Sacraments" ending.
I admit, it does take it out of you playing it again. There is a lot of back and forth in the game. But the graphics and sound are superb. It's different from the other Silent Hill games made by Team Silent and at least they bothered to do something different. On my current playthrough I can't get past the floating ghost in the second time prison world.
But what other game lets you perv into your neighbours room?

Like twoback, I've played through the entire game several times over and thoroughly enjoy it. I don't find it too tedious and instead focus on the amazing story and brilliantly detailed environments. I really love how surreal and dreamlike the entire game is and the return to the Otherworld apartment level is one of my favorite segments in any Silent Hill game. It's more than worth it to make it all the way through and although the game is different then the rest of the series, it did enough well to make up for the little missteps it took.

I tend to play this game more than I do SH2. Can't say how many times I've played through this game as I never keep track of that sort of thing, but I played it enough to unlock everything.

It's the first time I found a Silent Hill game to be challenging (Eileen makes for a terrible escort mission), but I did beat it back in 2007 (just hadn't gotten around to playing it)

That's not a bad price for it, and it's definitely worth playing alone when you can really concentrate on the game and take everything in.

When it came out I beat it multiple times, yeah. Mainly to get all the endings and unlockables.

The repeated areas do start to wear on me after a while though, and decrease the replay value.

Yop been through it multiple times. I might add though; that my favourite times during the game are at the start
-when you start learning what's going on. Certain areas annoy me-but also make me want to wig out with fear.
Certainly claustrophobic feeling and very 'Grey', which is both good and bad.
I would say that it's the game that scares me the most-mainly because of Walter.
I think I'm actually more scared of Walter than PH. It's da troof!

I found him more frightening too. I think it's because he shows up a lot more and the gun gives him range, making him a lot more threatening than the slow moving Pyramid Head. Also that scene in the hospital where he finally turns his attention to Henry is terrifying.

I remember I stood outside the room for a time deciding whether I should go back in or not to see what would happen. I was so scared to, but I finally did. The second I saw those two patients (I had never seen before) I ran straight back out! Never went5 in there again.

I've finished the game once, got the 21 Sacraments ending. All other playthroughs I've made it to the final boss fight but never seem to be able to beat him again. I feel ashamed....It was one of the most challenging SH games though.

I did pretty much the same thing, haha. The belching kind of ruined the patients ( especially if you get them with the chainsaw or push them down stairs, ugh ) but they are so intimidating at first. They're just so tall and walk with this really oppressive determination and they look so off.

21 Sacraments was my first ending too- I always get the worst ending first. It's kind of a let down. >:

Yeah, I agree the belching kind of gave away the scary aspect of them. I remember in my first playthrough, the very first time I hit one of them and heard the belch, I stopped for a time and thought to myself, "Did....did that thing just burp? I think it just burped at me!" I always loved pushing them down the stairs listening to their burps every time they hit a step.
