Thought this would be an interesting topic. Since we know that the Otherworld is based off of each individual's fears and versions of your own personal hell, what do you think your Otherworld would be like?

Hm, interesting question. Well, my Otherworld will probably have a lot of heights and bodies laying around. Well, I'm mostly scared of anything, so my Otherworld would have a lot of stuff inside. The atmosphere would probably be water, a few years ago I almost drowned and never swam again! A twisted version of the Loch Ness Monster would add some personality maybe. I don't know, maybe something like that.

Fire, flooding, and knives.

A place with many long stairways and escalators to mess with my acrophobia, the place would smell of sour milk as it has made me sick numerous times and I have developed a little phobia around milk, the main enemies would be snake and spider-like as both of those frighten me to death, to use some childhood fears I suspect it would also be very swampy as I live in Florida and use to have nightmares about the many narrow roads with marshland on both sides of the road and accidentaly driving into them, the main baddie would be a man with pure white skin and always grinning named Hewitt and would wield a chainsaw, when I was young I saw an apparition in the doorway to my room with white skin and said grin and I doubt it would pass up an oppurtunity like that plus the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake who's lead villian was a chainsaw-wielding maniac named Hewitt was the first film to really scare me as I didn't know those claims by the filmmaker that it was a true story was fiction in itself.

Guess it's pretty specific but I kind of know what to expect from Silent Hill as I know myself pretty well.

Heavy featuring of flesh (I'm quite overly modest), claustrophobia and lots of very small sharp things.

Me? Spiders. And Mirrors.

Mine would be full of arachnids and insects in total darkness.

I'm working on that for my short film series...my otherworld will be represented in at least one episode.

There would be large pits of absolute darkness with objects representing domestic harmony suspended over them. There is this inescapable feeling that you are being watched, and there is a heavy presence of busted TVs playing white noise in perpetuity. The darkness is so great that even the flashlight barely lights up the place. There is a blizzard raining down at all times, but the snow seems to barely cover things which cannot be completely seen and understood, but that you know you don't wish to see any more.

Hmm, hard question.

Mine would be made up of frozen ice, with even the floors made of ice so I can see the void below them.
As for monsters, there'd only be one kind. An ice monster that looked human. Specifically, an exact doppelgänger of me. And it would move awkwardly, as if it's a puppet being controlled by a child. All clumsy jerky movements. If it got in range, it'd be able to knock me over and choke me. Just touching one would make my blood freeze in my veins. And there wouldn't only be one - there'd be dozens attacking in groups. And they'd be able to follow everywhere. Barricades can only slow them, not stop them

Mine would probably be pitch dark, Blood, Rusty Sharp objects with dismembered bodies strewn all over the place.

It would be all ledges and small spaces. As I am both acrophobic and claustrophobic. The monsters would all be flying insects and police. More than likely all the weapons would be guns. Since I can't hit the broad side of a barn.

And the bosses would all be talk radio douchebags like Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh. Talking nonsense and never attacking.

*edit* And all the beer taps are broken. Except, bleh, Bud Light. Dun dun duuuuuuuuuun!

My otherworld

It would be quite dim (I am usually intimidated by walking around my town at night) with the feeling that there is trouble around every corner, certain buildings would have undergone severe water damage (reference to a fear of rain during an early age), any alleyways were pitch black with odd sounds coming from them (I hate going through lanes at night) and in regards monsters; they would mostly consist of dogs (again when I am around my town I get the thought of being attacked by a stray dog) and male silent hill nurse like enemies (representing drunks or violent people who would be around during the night)

I am also afraid of heights, so there would be long ladders to climb . . . dogs chasing me to the ladder . . .
A lot of falling down holes . . .
screaming in dark places . . .
germy dirty dusty places . . .
chased by things faster than me . . .
flying insects and spiders . . .
deep dark waters with sharks attacking . . .
Male oppression and aggressive attackers . . .

Let's see.

It would be an eternal school with zombie students. The female students having huge sharp teeth and a perpetual grin on their face. (I hate fake smiles and gossip.) It would be really dark and would be full of whispers.
It would have a room with huge swimming pool with dark red water.
Then another room with everything colored in....PINK. Man I hate that color, I try not to use it.
The only available weapon would be knifes, cause there's nothing scarier than having to get up close to a monster.
The props would be, dead animals (I love animals, I just can't stand animal abuse.),big bottomless holes, stairs, blood, and Justin Bieber posters. So scary.
Oh and a room with a spotlight and cages all around with monsters who just stare at you while making incomprehensible noises.

I can't see how anyone would know what their other world would be unless they knew their own heart and subconscious, which I doubt a majority of people on this earth would know.

My Otherworld would be full of insects and even spiders. I think the worst thing about it would be to see a giant egg sac of a spider but only to see a human corpse like morphing into a spider-like creature. I hate spiders.

Another thing would be... no sources of light at all, except for a lantern. Maybe small to very large pieces of flesh slowly eating away the Otherworld until there's no escape? Yep that would be me.

I don't know, but I feel like mine would be surrounded by fire. As for the monsters I can't quite verbalize what I imagine them to be, but they'd be horrifying.
