Mister Gas Mask Rain Coat Hammer Guy?

What are all your thoughts on him? I think he is some manifestation of the the suit, not really a enemy and I think it will be played out you come to find out there is no one in the suit. But I like ot hear others opinions! Oh oh and I think he sings too

I like him so far. Not outrageously original, but he's not a PH knockoff and he has this interesting air around him.

Sorry. Couldn't resist. I like how certain aspects of him seem very relevant to Murphy's convict status. For example, the hammer could be symbolic of a judge's gavel, while the gas mask may relate to a fear of execution by gas chamber.

He's one of my favorite monsters shown in Downpour. He seems mysterious, I like that :]

I am excited to see more of him. He's really got me intrested, and I really want to preorder the game if I could but alas no money.

I'm being cautiously optimistic about him. He's got a bit too much of the cliche SH "punisher" vibe about him. But if he is some kind of smoky apparition controlling the suit, that would be pretty cool. I see potential, I'm just hoping for the best.

Yeah the raincoat character certainly seems mysterious and is the hammer slam some sort of trigger to the Otherworrld perhaps? Or simply a way to stop Murphy from reaching him/her? I wonder if they reveal themself when they take off the gas mask which could be some big twist in the story or something.

Well, we've had Japanese horrors, an American horror, and now we're going to have a European horror in the series. I think if there's going to be an homage to the Goonies in this game, an homage to Resident Evil, if only in a design sense, is just fine.

I would be surprised if there is like a 10 minute cutscene where the character talks then takes the mask off then everything falls to the ground where we find out there was no one. I honestly think thats whats going on, as for the him havine the 'Punisher' vibe.. yeah there is that but I feel they are not going to use him as a monster or a boss but something for symbolism.

I like him over-all, but I feel the head design could be better.

We all know what a gas mask is. Monsters have worn them in films, games, and books a dozen times over. It's unoriginal now. Hence why PH's design was so awesome. We had never seen it before.

So yeah, I think his "creepy head apparel" could be better, but oh well. Let's find out when we play.

The water slide part is the homage to Goonies. Devin or Tomm said this on one of the commentary playthroughs from way back when.
