This sounds closer to the games than the previous installment.

If that's true it's gonna be awkward looking at Sean Bean as Harry Mason without picturing Chris Da Silva.

What would be the reaction of everybody here if by some weird plot twist Harry and Heather turn out to be Chris and grown up Sharon using different names to hide from the cult?

Harry Mason is an assumed name and that they've been living undercover like Harry in SH3.

That's what I'm beginning to think. Otherwise it would be rather confusing to use Sean Bean in the sequel portraying a different character when those who saw the previous film would recognize him as the father.

It's a corny plot twist, but I'm wondering if the people working on this film are actually using that idea or if bringing Sean Bean is simply them being inconsiderate.

The thing is though, if Chris became Harry, then they better fix him up to look obviously older. After all Heather is supposed to be 18. Sharon was... 9?

I agree on the cheesy plot twist. It was well done in the game, but here in the movie it doesn't.

Doesn't anyone else find it odd that Harry never changed his name in the games, though? He changed his daughter's name, but not his own. Didn't just about everyone he met in Silent Hill know who he was? And if no one was left who would remember him, what was the point of changing his daughter's name?

Well, I suppose, in a way, Harry didn't change Heather's name. I think he more re-named her, rather than changed her name, as he decided the baby that was given to him by Alessa at the end of Silent Hill was a different being to Cheryl.
Either that, or he's just too badass to change his own name as well as his daughter's. 8-)

Still, he certainly didn't name her Cheryl and he didn't let her hair stay dark.

But I am a Silent Hill fan! I demand an explanation! *shakes Metal Man with vigor and enthusiasm* EXPLAIN IT ALL TO ME! NOW! EXPLAIN IT!!
