Yeah, that's TOTALLY what the movie is about. Totally. :lol:

It looks like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.

I remember seeing the movie described like that when it first came out. The business of the faith healer in particular stands out.

It's not accurate, but it's not their invention, either.

Was there originally going to be a faith healer or something? That would've been weird.

I do believe that was one of the original ideas, yeah.

Honestly, I still want to believe that Rose found out about some weirdo hermit faith healer who squats among the ruins of Silent Hill and simply never bothered to reveal it to those perched outside the fourth wall, because I can't remember Rose ever justifying why she thought taking her sick daughter to Rusty Butthole, West Virginia wasn't the worst possible idea in the history of human cogitation.

It was probably some New Age hippie. I think it was Dahlia. Or was it Anna?

I think they said it was sane because it would get rid of her "night terrors" or psych problems.

I actually remember seeing this description some time (a few months at least) before the movie actually came out. At least the idea of a faith healer was never actually used.

Hmm... What if the faith healer had turned out to be Dahlia who was putting Sharon through a ton of pain to "exorcise" the demons from her when in reality she was just trying to birth god? :O

@what
Well, then again, Rose is one of the most retarded horror protagonists of the 21st century (not counting Bella Swan...then again, who does?)

Though not a protagonist, Cybil is even dumber. If she gets on that elevator with Rose, the cultists won't be able to do anything about it. And, even without bullets, she just stands there and gets beaten stupid, then is killed in a horrible, agonizing manner. And none of it is even necessary.

This x1000

Rose isn't that bad, though. She's just kinda freaked out and isn't very willing to actually fight back against the monsters. I sure as heck would be cautious about getting anywhere near them. (She did, after all, only have the freakin' knife with her)

Yes, but then again, may I direct you to a little exchange between her and Officer Bennett at the gas station, and the events that followed? Not exactly cunning brainpower there, if I do say so myself.

@what
I agree heartily, but it is worth noting that they would have chargrilled Sharon like it was Thanksgiving before they got back, should Cybil have joined Rose in the fun-filled, gravity-enhanced elevator trip down to the hospital basement. And don't even get me started on those nurses... ;)

I downloaded a script for the film once - It's an older draft and includes that subplot. I thought I got it on the Lost Memories site, but now I can't find it there, and unfortunately it got lost when I had to reformat. I'll try to find it again.

EDIT: Was right in front of me. D'oh.

Yeah, but that just means that her sacrifice became non-trivial after the fact. From Sharon's point of view, Cybil's sacrifice was something of a deus ex stupida.

Ahhh...I see what you did there.
I think she was too busy omnomnom-ing on the stranger's jacket, who was busy restraining her...because EVERYBODY knows there's nothing more dangerous than an innocent 7-year-old with bad dreams.

I wouldn't bother restraining Alessa-like figures.

I'd knock 'em the hell out!
