I think it would be an awesome idea to put Orgins in the Silent Hill: HD collection. I'd still pick SH4 over Origins to be included in this HD bundle. While 4 was radically different than the norm, Origins was way too vanilla. I still appreciate the visual feats that game pulled on a PSP, but its story had a lot to be desired, the weapons break way too easily and it was comically black/dark on the PS2 version to the point of being unplayable.

Now if they addressed those issues in a remastering on the other hand...

But Origins already had too many accolades and the unloackables are enough. So all that is left is more endings, game modes, and new areas perhaps?

It wouldnt because it was a Sony exclusive. Sony bought the rights and the HD collection is gonna be on PS3 and 360. Which would break the contract. Also that game is horrible. There not even gonna put silent hill 4 in it.

The SH HD Collection is only gonna be on PS3, and I don't remember Sony doing any deal with Konami to only release Origins on the PSP and PS2.

I think the main reason why no other games besides SH2 and 3 are included is because:

*These two were the MOST requested by fans for ages now
*New work such as new textures and possibly models being done from the ground up
*New voice work
*New music
*New areas added
*Possibly more...

...which would be a lot more work if they decided to add even one more game to the collection, let alone three. As for me? I'm not too concerned since I have no desire to play SM, don't feel like playing Origins again, and I hate SH4's gameplay with a passion, so meh.

SH2 and 3 possibly had the highest sales and best reception of the PS2 releases, so they're gonna put those out and decide which games to add to the collection from there (high sales, more games; low sales, nothing else).

Ooops my bad, it is PS3 exclusive. But origins IS ps2/psp exclusive because they did a contract. Sort of like nintendo did with resident evil 0 and remake. Plus either way you look at it, there not gonna put this game in just because a small fan site asks. Not to be rude but it is true. Because capcoms resident evil outbreak for instance, its got 8000 signers and counting for the revival and still no word. Plus origins and shattard memories was terrible. I can see a pc port but...

Dude, stop saying Orgins and Shattered memories suck, there two of my favorite games any you keep on dissing on them without saying why. They are both awesome, just like every other main silent hill game.

You can NEVER have enough unlockables, new areas, game modes, and endings would be awesome. Anything to give me another reason to play Orgins again.

The gameplay seemed good to me, better combat then 1-3(idk about 4) and the puzzles where pretty cool. The story wasn't the best, I don't realy like the Order, but it was better then most games. I don't see what was wrong with the pacing.

Origins was good. There are you happy? I liked origins for it's simplicity. Honest, I swear. If the added a bit more endings and areas I would be happy.

Nobody in this thread used any such superlatives to describe Origins. A few of us mentioned legitimate issues we have with it. I'm pretty neutral about the game myself, overall. It did some things pretty well, but it did completely whiff in some crucial ways. The breakable weapons were implemented with little thought to balance (or physics), and the pacing was pretty bad (by which I mean, the areas were far too large and confusing to navigate, especially the Sanitarium). Also, the whole Alessa subplot added absolutely nothing to the story and seemed to be included only out of a misguided belief that people won't understand that it's a Silent Hill game unless the game vomits huge amounts of The Order on you indiscriminately.

I dunno, I didn't get lost or confused when I played Origins. I kinda plowed through it, beat it in around 4 or 5 hours on my first run, but it was still a good game. Felt like "classic" SH to me.

I got lost often. But because the PS2 port was so dark I couldn't see where I was going. As I said earlier, the game is vanilla: Not bad by no means, but nothing special, either. I hold it on the same playing level as SH3, in terms of what it brought to the table for the SH universe.

Origins was a lot better on PSP. Really it was. The PS2 version was so glitchy I abandoned it. It was a great PSP game, not a great PS2 game. I suggest trying it like it was intended, rather than the port.
