The Crowbar's existence. Beat down your enemy's Gordon Freeman style.
I love the Silent Hill Series. The new games did nothing wrong whatsoever, they were developed well, and did things different. I believe that Silent Hill Downpour will make all Silent Hill fans happy. Team Silent doesn't exist, but their series does.

The combat system's sophistication (Stop giggling!).
That really was intriguing about the game. I can't be bothered buying it, though. :P

I thought it was an all-around good game. (granted I'm not as picky as some fans)
I guess the only thing I really didn't like was the lip sync on Adam. That was a little weird. Otherwise, I liked just about everything.

@Jane
Funnily enough, the quality of the voice and lip sync irks me on a lot of games. The best one I've found so far is probably Assassin's Creed 2 - they used it quite well.

Yeah, it's mostly the fault of both how they were probably taught to do lip syncs and the quality of the models used. It ain't no LA Noir.

Yeah - but the best actually (sorry, got it wrong) is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (1 & 2). Because they used actual actors with the facial-graphic recognition technology, the lip-syncing is almost perfect. :D

Yeah that's why I mentioned LA Noir. They did the same thing with it.

I have been watching a playthrough on YouTube (don't own any consoles). And this games version of the Lying Figure is the bast I have seen and might be my favorite Silent Hill monster period; I really love the way they look and move.

Really? Awesome!

@Solitary Poet
Fair enough. The sounds they make are pretty chilling, too.
By the way; did you know you could get Homecoming for Windows Vista, Poet?

I have Windows XP Home Edition. Will it work with XP and is it legal?

Probably not. As far as I can tell, because Homecoming is made for the 360 and PS2, it will probably require Vista or higher to run.
And I think you'd be able to purchase it like any other PC game, or you can torrent it. I think it's legal, though.

@Solitary Poet Homecoming is the worst SH PC port because it has so many problems.

The best part about Homecoming is that you can turn it off!

Just kidding!

The best part is when you get mad that it is a Silent Hill game you can pretend it isn't and realize that it is still a really cool game! Better than a bunch of horror games that had sequels... and shouldn't have.

the whole game is positive. After seeing what origins was, i loved this game. I wish though that team silent would come back. I miss the old formula.

Well technically there was, but it doesn't really matter. They can remake John Carpenter's movie The Thing, and expect it to be better with cgi, but the truth is, horror games are lacking nowadays because they are missing the point. That point is: less abilities, more creepy. Everyone gave that up to be flashy, even "Team Silent" couldn't cross that gorge! Unless massa Konami says so!

I agree. Its kinda like insomniac games developed the first 3 spyros. The other games never lived up to insomniacs.

Well... Then Shattered Memories came along, in which the player is virtually powerless, and people got upset because they liked auto-targeting things to death.

Taken from VR or whatever. And torrents are not illegal. BUT if you use a torrent to download an illegal thing, it is. So dont do it, since you got a 50/50 chance at being caught. Trust me, my mom works at a cable company and she deals with this alot.

@cameron
Intriguing...thanks for the info! :D

@hairy
Agreed. I'm waiting to see a new, good thriller with an awesome storyline and actors...think I'm gon' be here a while. :|

@Jane
It's a fair point - but I'd always imagined people would have disliked Silent Hill 3's combat due to the adjustable accuracy of the bullets? Or did I misinterpret?
