SH4 The Room HD petition

Hi guys
I'm an administrator of an italian SH fan site (my english is not perfect, forgive me ;])
We can't wait for SH Collection HD but we are too much sad for SH4 The Room exclusion.
Yesterday we have open a petition: please sign it. Konami must include this great underrated game: it's a great chance to re-release it.

In think the reason for the exclusion of SH4 was that the new HD editions are going to include new voiceovers as well, and aside from Henry's emotionally void character, the dialouge in that game wasn't as awkward as in SH2+3 (though nothing beats the narm-charm of SH1 ).

It still baffles me why they wouldn't include this game. It's definitely not a favorite of mine but, all the game's quarks aside, the story is still freakin' creepy as all hell.

Oh, and about the new voice-overs: I'm hoping they don't change Jimmy's, "Oh nothing... Sure is quiet here, huh?" I love that line.

Usually "HD versions" are just higher output resolution. Like this!

SH1 would be pointless to include since it's already on the PS Store, and wouldn't benefit at all from an HD upconversion. They'd have to rebuild the game from the ground up for it to be worthwhile.

SH4 and others are most likely excluded since 2/3 are getting new voices done. Since all of Konami's teams are already hella busy on the numerous projects the company is working on, they most likely can't find the time/budget to give the same treatment to SH4 and such right now.

Huh.. I wonder why they're doing that? The dialogue is fine for the most part. I mean sure, there's some embarrassing lines but I'd just feel weird hearing different voices..

Shame they're not including The Room, that's the game that needs new voices more than any!

As would I, but it'd entail re-doing every single model and texture from scratch, and re-mastering the sound as well, so it'd be the same amount of work as a new current-gen title. Fans can dream I guess.

I will not sign the petition since the knowledge that Konami will be re-recording dialogue for the HD Collection has completely turned me off of getting the HD Collection. Ruining SH2 and 3 is bad enough. At least SH4 is being spared from being "George Lucas-ed"

I actually think 4 and origins will come in HD, because other developers are doing it. 4 got enough reception and deserves it! Origins well... idk. But shattered memories wont but it should have been on PS3 or 360. I mean come on! Homecoming was released on PS3 and 360 BEFORE Shattard memories. So makes me wonder what there smoking lol. Im a signer! I love SH4!
@Zom-B There doing new voice overs to avoid lawsuits ( EX reusing lisas voice in SH3 without permission ) And the guy who voiced james is refusing. Look it up, thats the reason. So there doing voice overs from scratch. I also heard that there will be new areas added to the game!. Guys, is that true?

Well i strongly hope we can see in silent hill 2 some cool areas brought in, like maybe the apartment building redone. I hope they let us do in the beta in this, like have PH run around free like the beta. I wanna fight him alot to make the game more fun! OOOH And i hope they include for SH2 the mario sub scenario and it would be SO COOL if they make a scenario for eddie and angela. Like have the eddie scenario show what he did from the apartments to the prison, and angelas show what happened after she walked up the fire stairs at the hotel. I want it to happen.!

I don't see a petition doing any good. I think SH4 is being left out simply because of its lukewarm reception. Everybody always favors the first three games. First game is already on PSN and doing a remake of SH1 would take time.

They probably don't want to sink any more money into this than they're already doing. Just sucks they have to screw Guy out of his money.

I was mainly looking forward to playing this on Vita, but whatever.

you'd think with been such a big game developer Konami would of had a legal team covering area's such as this! I mean surely they own some kinda rights over their own franchise and surely the actors/voice talents would of had to agree to some kind of binding contract just to get the work - god damn it - as I got all excited to play SH2 and 3 this just puts me way way off - dont we all love the awkwardness portrayed in the games dialogue (especially with 2) and now we have totally new voiceovers which more than likely wont capture the same nostalgic feel to some of our most loved games - ASSWIPES
