I haven't been on SHC for a good while now, unfortunately but I come to you all now in my hour of need!

Do you know that issue of PSM (I think it was PSM anyway) where it has the super muscular James on the cover? Do you have a copy of the image on your computer? If so, I would adore you forever if you could post it here. I've saved the damn picture at least 3 times over the years but recently lost all my photos so I'm left without it.

I checked around on Google Images, Letter from Silent Heaven, and the wiki but to no avail. I can find the Silent Hill 1 PSM cover just fine which is done in a similar style, but not SH2! So please folks, if anyone has the image readily available post it for me and make my day.

Thanks :D.

Wow... I've never seen that one before. Man... I think it's pretty safe to say that the artist has never even touched the game.

I've never seen that before either. That picture is just...surreal. It looks like a cross between Doom and Resident Evil.

Does anyone know who the artist was or if there were any other un-fitting promos for the Silent Hill series?

That seems vaguely familiar, but still WOW.

It looks like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.

The artists signed it, by his right knee. I know that PSM used to bring on popular comic book artists to do their covers, but I don't read comics and am not very familiar with the names.

The first Silent Hill featured on PSM's cover, too. It's not as painfully ridiculous, but a large amount of artistic license is evident nonetheless.

Thank you! I don't know why the picture kept hiding itself from me these past few days. I just wanted to use it in my header for my blog haha. I think it makes quite a statement to have huge, muscley James at the top of a page. I'm just not sure what kind of statement that is.

I also agree that the Silent Hill 1 cover isn't as crazy, but it's still pretty weird. Mostly Cybil, who is a little Lara Croft-ized for no real reason.

It just reminds me of how so many old-school, revered US comic artists can NOT draw men other than the size of the hulk or females with busts no smaller than E cups.

Basically, this:

And besides Jimmy's ridiculously tight pants his teeth have always bugged the hell outta me. Seriously, I can't tell if he has an overbite or if he's showing both rows of teeth and they're all just really, really small.

Whoops. Wow I'm really observant this time! Unfortunately I'm not too up on signatures of comic book artists. It does look stupid all the same though!

I don't know too many comic book artists but I know enough to know that Liefeld sucks big time. That guy just never learned anything about perspective. I think the one for the first game is worse. The faces are just damn terrible! Even for an exaggerated look they don't fit!

Well, this was in the days where developers assumed the female demographic for videogames was a big-fat 0%.

It was definitely in the days when comic book artists assumed that the female demographic for videogame magazines was a big fat 0%, which was probably not all that far off the mark. Growing up when I did has not led to my once being able to remember a girl who read them.

I read them back then. I am female. I've been a gamer my whole life.

Notice the word assumed. I know women who used to play Resident Evil. :D

I don't remember you growing up. You have no place in my anecdote. ;d

I did know a decent number of female gamers (am, in fact, engaged to someone who plays more than I do), but none that bothered with the magazines.

It's not as bad as what happens in some comics! Examples: http://www.cracked.com/article_17626_5-creepiest-sex-scenes-in-comics.html (probably better that you don't view this one at work)

I think I recognize one of the artist's names as Stephen Platt - but he usually signed his work S.Platt so I could be mistaken there.
