Reading this topic (thanx for bumping it, btw):
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=417000

...made me reflect on fan girl's feelings towards Silent Hill 3's favorite little lover boy.
Crushes on Pyramid Head make more sense to me, because he's not only an alpha male, but he also stems from the emotions of a dedicated husband and wonderful man. He's like crack for under appreciated women. ;)

I'd like a little more insight into the Vincent fans.
I'm assuming the feelings toward his character have something to do with his intelligence, or maybe even his money, idk.
His impending involvement in Revelations got me thinking: Why do some of you gals swoon for Vincent?
His character design isn't that bad looking, I'll give you that one. :D

It looks like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.

Vincent and Walter are the two guys who really seem to make the fangirls wet. I don't get this. Not only are they both of at least questionable sanity, but they're not even good looking guys.

If I didn't know any better, I would assume Henry and Alex would occupy those spaces.
The above post is intended to be factual, unless it isn't.

I'd understand Alex or Henry, too.

It seems to me that the only gals who would be attracted to Vincent would be shyer and/or emotionally unstable. Do they really want a slick religious official who just tries to pump others for cash? Because there's enough of those in real life.

It looks like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.

I'm new here, but I just had to give some answer to this question. You named two of my favorite characters in the series, Walter and Vincent. I can only give you my reason for favoring them, though.

With Vincent, it's his intelligence. It didn't matter to me that he's good looking, or actually kind of geeky, just that he was intelligent. Also the first encounter with him was kind of creepy when he brought up the suspicion of whether the creatures were actually people and Heather was just hallucinating. In other words, he made you think of other possibilities for what was going on.

Just for the heck of it, I'm including Walter because he was mentioned. I know he was a murderer and that's the main thing I don't like about him. But he's fun to analyze, which I do a lot of. The base motives for what he does are very clear, but there isn't really any explanation for how he chose his victims. If you look at most serial killers there's something similar between each victim whether it be actions, personality traits or just simply gender. You see a hint of a connection between him and his victims and hardly anything else. Besides, the whole thing about him being a lost child could be one of the main reasons why so many are attracted to him. It strikes a chord with their maternal instincts and makes girls protective of him.

Even though Walter is much worse than Vincent, he's the one I like more.

By the way, other than Pyramid Head being an awesome monster, how could any girls like him as anything other than that? I might have some twisted tastes in guys, but that one is just beyond me.

I have a thing for intellectuals. Vincent fits the bill. Not too bad on the eyes, either. ;)

Yeah, I think that's the main thing. Sleazy, but smart.

Though Walter is kinda gross and dirty looking, I think he'd scrub up well. Too bad about being a psycho and a murderer and all that, though, but we all have our bad points

I still find Harry to be the most appealing male character, though. I'm boring in that way. Just seems like such a nice guy (SH1 Harry, I mean. SHSM Harry is a bit different.) My opinion doesn't count much though, because I also have a crush on SH1 Dahlia. Old crazy bats are awesome.

I'm surprised! Everyone knows Walter bears a striking resemblance to Kurt Cobain.

I think Walter is a lot better looking, actually. And I don't really find Walter all that good looking. He's ok I guess.

Walter's mildly cute and totally psycho. Chicks dig that. =0P

^Chicks dig that? Oh, right. You meant normal chicks.
From the third game, I think Douglas is the most attractive character, but that's just me. I know I'm weird. I guess everyone just has their own thing.

Oh yes, Vincent is very delicious. ;) Hehehehe.

I actually liked Vincent as a character, because, not only was he a total douchebag - he was also a smartass! And that is why I would prefer to have his adopted babies than Douglas'. 8-)

I can sorta understand folks like Harry, Henry, Walter, Vincent, James, etc., but when it comes down to all the PH and even Butcher fangirls/boys(!) I've seen, my mind kinda gets blown at times. Can't really fathom it, but I'd guess when you become a hardcore SH fan, you aren't really 100% "normal" anyway.

I'm not going to understand it and I don't think I'll ever try. The only thing Vincent had going for him was that he was a coniving weasel. Yes he was basically on your team, but only because you had a common enemy.

Despite that, I don't like the approach the revelations movie is supposedly going to take, based on what the director said about Vincent. Vincent was the type that didn't get his hands dirty because he got everyone else to do things for him, but it seems as if he is going to be changed into a gun-toting badass, but that just isnt the same.

In terms of Vincent, how can a gamer girl not like a leading nerd character? Come on, he's got the glasses and the hair and everything. Could use a toothbrush, though... Either way, he's well-dressed and pretty fun to listen to. I think another thing people really like about him is that he actually gestures when he talks, something the other characters rarely ever do. Walter does this too, even if they're just simple hand waves. They're both generally more interesting to watch and listen to.

Here's my reply to this... This is how it went for me, anyways! http://NetherStray.deviantart.com/art/5-Stages-of-Fandom-204174847

Harry's a loving father, which is admirable and adorable. Walter is a psycho with a troubled past, but he's really just a lost kid looking for his mother. Vincent is nerdy, James is sort of good looking (I guess), but Henry? He's good looking, but he's downright BLAND.

Vincent is nerdy, as some people have already said, I think that wins him some points :P

I've never liked Henry, he walks in a very strange way.

Well, heroin's a hell of a drug - can we rule out that Henry is a junkie?

Back-to-topic-joke time!

- "The name's Vincent...don't forget it, okay?"
- "Forget who now?"
