Maybe it was Alessa's way of "binding" the nurse to her service (with the encouragement of the "demon," of course).

Well, I don't think it was intentional to do that to her personally. She just happened to be the onlooker and Alessa just used her because she was blinded by hatred after what all the people did to her in the church. This is another example of the film Carrie. She kills everyone in the prom, even those who I'm sure felt sorry for her and didn't even treat her badly. She was basically going mad and couldn't control herself. The same case goes here with Alessa.

Yeah that sounds like a pretty reasonable conclusion. I'm thinking in this case it's more a case of a mix of the two. Like on the one level it might be a result of blind hatred on the other hand it might also be a way of "binding" her but I'm thinking more in a impartial way simply because she happened to be there.

I do think in the movie Lisa was generally just "added in" for the fans sake without any real significance to the story other then to perhaps illustrate the power of Alessa/demon/god ( Though if I recall in this cult it was simply considered a demon?).
It's a shame to because Lisa's story is a emotional one and could have been used to great effect in a movie. Then again I suppose on one level I can understand why they didn't do much with her. I'm thinking it may be more a simplicity thing as adding to many "main characters" makes the story harder to follow?

My personal opinion is when they decided to make Harry into a woman, Lisa was kinda hard to write in as a full blown charachter, so they just did a symbolic version of her role with Alessa, which I think sucked. Harry as a woman, hmmm? Harry as a woman causes you to cut out key charachters. Booooooo. :P

You're pretty darn right.

This somehow brings me back to that Heather is a lesbian blog. I mean the short skirt and boots remind me of heather.
I think Lisa's role could have been better without being, romantic, with the main character.

Actually the whole thing with changing Harry to a women was pointless. Done only for the fact the guy was sexist and felt Harry behaved as a women would. The guy says it in Silent Hill Experience. Don't get me started on that BS. Still I don't think that's the SOLE reason he changed her role in the movie. After all Just because the lead is now female doesn't mean she couldn't have been guided/talked to by a nurse addicted to drugs. I think it was more because he rewrote the story in general "to make it easier for audiences to understand" he messed up Lisa's role or removed her as she then became unnecessary.

IMO I never really got the sense that there was a strong love connection between Harry/Lisa anyway. I mean I suppose you could say the few times she hugged him are proof but I dunno... At the very least there's not enough there that you couldn't replace Harry with a women and get away with it without imply there lesbians (not that if you did imply that it would really negatively affect the over all story that much).

I didn't think there was a love interest, so much as a unlikely hero/damsel in distress relationship. Seeing as how Rose would make that situation slightly lesbian and Rose had a husband, that was a little off. I don't think that Lisa was into Harry, so much as she looked at him as a father figure hero type which he would have had to drastically alter to recreate with Rose. And I still think that gans was a schmuck for making Harry into a woman. My father chose to raise my sister and me as his own when we were not. He sacrificed everything he loved except his entertainment center to raise, guide and support us. And he had a pretty unheroic job just like Harry. He was a janitor. If one or both of us dissapeared in Silent Hill, I'm sure he would have risked life and limb, cause he fought a damaged spine three times, to continue working and providing for us, until he was forced into retirement, by his doctor and not his employer, when in the fourth incident his neck actually snapped. It doesn't take a woman to risk everything for her children, it takes a parent. I'm glad that you can recognize sexism when it is directed towards men though, Props.

I don't get why people say she looks like a 70's porn star. She's quite lovely IMO.
