Thanks for the link to the HD Trailer knwlss! It's great!

I noticed a lot of cool things watching the HD version I didn’t before :)

The neat!
1) The monsters are pretty creepy. It looks like Murphy DIDN’T shoot the other inmate. From what I can see it looks like the female monster mauled and bit him. He was way too bloody from a single gunshot.

2) When the little girl jumps into frame there’s also a little boy in the doorway. The man she pushes is wearing jeans and a green button down shirt and not a prison coverall so it could be a flashback. Maybe the boy and girl are related to Murphy in some way. His kids…his siblings…random ghosts from that apartment? Their clothing did look dated next to the man in jeans.

3) The man on the TV seems to be black

4) Murphy is in a prison cell when the world shifts to the other world. I really like how the other world becomes like a vortex/blackhole and sucks all the stuff away.

5) Overall the world had a lot more color. Everything looked pretty gray and washed out before but I can a much more detailed Silent Hill now. If anything it really reminds me of the Blue Creek Apartments area of Silent Hill 2. The brief glimpses of fog look really good in my opinion. This could be the most “realistic” version of the town yet. Nice rain effects as well!

6) Great voice acting from the little we hear. I also like the music!

Not So great

1) Murphy looks pretty blah and plasticy…especially his hair. I’m really hoping he gets more detail on his character model.

2) Some animation does look stiff but I’m sure it will improve!

I've taken lots of screens:

It appears that at the start of the trailer Murphy isn't just looking down on his handcuffs but actually falls asleep. So, he must be suffering from hallucinations or weird dreams or even having some special power (which I doubt) or Silent Hill reaching out on him in some way. Or maybe he sees things in his dreams (which could actually happen) or gets tranferred elsewhere.

"Gamers will play as ex-inmate Murphy Pendleton, a man who suffers from lucid visions when he sleeps. In the trailer, Pendleton is seen running through the forest in his jumpsuit, crossing a ravine by tiptoeing along a log, finally finding his way to Silent Hill.

Next, the player enters a building and proceeds down a hallway that begins to disintegrate, revealing that the corridor is actually a metal cage* suspended in a creepy sewerlike area. After this scene, Pendleton wakes up, still on the bus.
"

*That actually means being not shifting to a metal cage.

Dunno if they're making it up but they seem to know something.

It could also be something like what Harry experiences at the start of the first game and then waking up in the Cafe.

The Otherworld could be his dreams (or he goes there/sees it when he's asleep) or he's just plain crazy.

I think it's just guesswork, I assumed that scene was in a dream (perhaps on that Murphy falls into at the start ala Homecoming

EDIT: I put bed instead of scene...god I must have been sleepy

Here's the 'soundtrack' ripped from the trailer: [Trailer music & sound effects only]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNVqfDvjV8w

I like it as an alternative 'till we have the normal one. Listen to it if you want. I've included DL links. I think it sounds like a horror movie soundtrack or a darker version of the SHSM ones. Actually, this one resembles Scarlet's theme from SH5 in some parts and generally resembles SH5's and SHSM's style.

i gotta say the two guys from konami and vatra lack any passion when presenting their work.
don't have a good feeling about these douches being in charge of making the new game.

i hope they'll prove me wrong but until then... :|

Touché Douche. I assure you, I have inside knowledge and they are extremely passionate, they actively scour message boards on a regular basis for 'constructive' comments and feedback. They will prove you wrong, in the meantime try not to be such a hater, it's not a very good look on you.

PS: It's harder than you think to present in front of 400+ people and Live cameras.

Even if he's bullshitting, he's got a valid point. Getting up in front of those people has to be extremely nerve-wracking. It looked like they were sticking to a script because they're probably not great speakers. I don't care how well they speak in public, I'm waiting for the game to show me their passion. :P

I didn't deny that. They did look rather nervous when they were presenting. I just love when someone in the SH community claims to have insider knowledge.

Balls on the chin of those who hate on the new developers! If you can do better than do so. Otherwise, shut up, and buy the game when it comes out, and hate away then. I feel the warmth of your goatees until then.

You know it's getting serious when knee jerk reactions are punishable by immediate tea bagging. SUCKAS BE WARNED!

Anyway, the trailer was decent. Im'a fall back on my company line, however: Wait in the shadows like a ninja, then when the game releases, emerge from the shadows and deliver either swift commendation for a job well done...

Or a swift death

oh come on, i am not hating, i am only expressing my feelings after watching a poor presentation.
and it was poor spokesmanship. and i also added i hope these guys will prove that they're better at programming and storytelling, than talking about it in front of an audience. so you can keep your inside knowledge for yourself...

and i still think they acted like some douches^^
