what's your favourite place?

HellFrozenJames wrote:The theater was awesome because we've been to hotels, hospitals, sanitariums, etc. The theater was the only place in SHO that has never been in any of the Silent Hill games. Plus I loved what they did with the stage, when you change the set, it becomes real in the otherworld.

I like sanitarium, but for some reason i like hosptial.

BUT, i also like riverside hotel because it is creepy. XD especially when you fight the butcher, i was nervous and lumber up myself before to get in the kicthen to fight butcher. :D

anywho, my most favorite place in SH0 was...hosptial. not because it's easy but its because something in there give me goosebump a little. *shurgs*

I like the hospital just because it's such a throwback to SH1. It's like, the one consistent place that ties the two games together. That and the Antique Shop room.

I have two favorites in Silent Hill Origins.

1: The house you travel to and jump down the hole in the bathroom to get to the Theater. This are had a very nice track playing in the background and reminded me of Heavens Night from SH2. You had to travel through this area to get to your destination. Like in SH2 the only way to get to the hospital was to go through Heavens Night. The only way to get the the Theater in SH0 was to go through this place "whatever its called" go to the bathroom, jump down and find the front door out.

2. Another favorite place was the room at the Hotel with the heart shaped bed where Travis bumps into Lisa and Kaufman after they just had sex. At least thats what I was amusing and anyway. The whole idea made me realize next time I pick up a women thats where I would like to take her.... You know.... In my mind...

So what is the hotel at the end called? That's my spot. Especially outdoors. It's cool how your'e in the open but you still feel claustrophobic. And the chain of events to complete the area was laid ou to where it didn't feel like go find the key, even though it was. not any more than any other survival horror game though.

The Riverside Motel.

My favorite is the theater.
I've taken enough walks alone to know how real nothing is.

-Well I really liked the other world theater. In the background you can sometimes hear instruments wich added a creepy and a funny effect. (In my mind I imagined the monsters playing in a orchestra) Weird.
-The burning house was cool, because of all the pictures in the walls.
-The sanitorium is one of my favorites because there were many things to kill.
-I didn't like the hotel and the part where you run away from alessa. It was so scary to be outside, in the dark. :?

Although every place in 0rigins is great, I enjoy the Theater the most.

Everyone likes the Sanitarium so much, but man, I can't stand it. I actually have a save file right before the final boss there so I don't ever have to play it again if I don't want to. (But I get the boss, so I can get Travis' mommy issues.)

For me, the theatre is cool, but that godforsaken lightbulb puzzle angers me so much that I just can't say it's my favorite. I liked the antique shop and the little apartment building just before the theatre for the reasons already listed in this thread, but I think the Riverside Motel is the best. It's obviously a really important/impacting place for Travis, so going there the first time felt really serious and nerve-wracking and scary to me (I dunno, I was really immersed in this game I guess). Plus, it seems like a bunch of the rooms have kind of their own story going on, similar to some of the rooms in the Lakeside Hotel in 2. I really liked that about it. The room with all the pictures of the Butcher is just too cool, I love to look in there. And the little cramped maintenance hallway to spy on rooms is really awesome, too. It really did make you feel like you were totally "outside" of everything in a really neat and still spooky way.

Plus, the daddy issues, man. That was screwed up. I really love Travis though, so I'm a sucker for what little of Origins is actually about HIM and not just a vehicle to talk more about Alessa (whom I couldn't care less about if I tried, I think).

I like the world of Silent Hill along with it Fog. Because as you can see, the fog is hiding everything for some distance (that was very clever idea instead of using wall to hide something). It promise you a safe condition because you're not traped by any wall, even though the truth is monsters were everywhere haunting the living people. And also the effect from the hero footsteps combine with the quite city and the fog. A loneliness. It's what i called the fear is... :)

That's weird. I could've sworn I posted in this thread before.

I guess I'm not alone in liking the theater level! The puzzles were a little silly, except for the set transitions in the otherworld. (That was considered a puzzle, right?)
Something about looking into the hotel rooms felt really Silent Hilly, too. Something about it reminded me of the water prison in 4. lol.

It looks like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.

I really enjoyed the motel because it had my favorite track "white lies" in it and was one of the more peaceful sections of the game unless you're in the otherworld and have the creepy music going down

The junkyard really felt like SH1 or 2; it was great. I think my favorite area was the sanitarium though. The atmosphere was incredible and I love how they played with the lighting.
