for me it's the junk/ scrap yard found later on in the game in the streets. It feels like death.

The theatre. I found it to be the most interesting place, and I myself love acting. It just felt like my niche in the game. References to 'The Tempest' were also interesting. It gave the place a background and gave it the feel of a theatre. I loved hearing Caliban's monologue in the creepy forest area. That part was just perfect. :love2:
There is a better world. Well, there must be.

what's your favourite place?

I don't think it's actually in the game, but my favorite place is the secret laboratory in which someone finally invents a tire iron made of a new steel alloy that doesn't break after striking soft, fleshy objects five times.
The above post is intended to be factual, unless it isn't.

I'd have to agree with BronzeFox.

the theater was hands down one of the creepiest places in the game.

Plus it blew my mind, I didn't expect THAT much gameplay out of a location like that.

i liked the space between the walls of the motel the best i think

it felt like it wasn't part of the game or something

The theater was great! I dunno, but theaters in horror/sci-fi video games just seem too cool for school. I dunno if any of you have played the video game BioShock, but there is an area you visit based around a theater/mall (decorated in 1940s 'Art Deco' style). That game sort of sealed my love for creepy theaters...

I also like the sanitarium though, that was pretty neat/creepy.

The sanitarium. :D There's so much to do and it's one of the creepier places in the nightmare world.

I loved the Sanitarium (it was nice, but they should have made that place more creepier..., but still, it was scary with the other world  ), and the Motel (why? I really have no idea. Probably because Motels are just naturally creepy?)

If you think they're scary enough as-is, don't even enter one with a blacklight/UV light.

The sanitarium seemed boring to me, for some reason. I prefer the hotel.

Not too sure. The hospital is out, except for the plastic body puzzle, where you see that the eyes are gouged out. I'd have to say that the sanitarium and the theatre are my favorite places. The hotel is right behind them, because of the daddy thing. There's just something about sanitariumsand horror-themed games...

The theater was awesome because we've been to hotels, hospitals, sanitariums, etc. The theater was the only place in SHO that has never been in any of the Silent Hill games. Plus I loved what they did with the stage, when you change the set, it becomes real in the otherworld.

That was one of the interesting things about it. Also, I think the Tempest fit well with SH0, and it was a good addition to the game. Climax allowed for another theater setting to be in Shattered Memories, but it wasn't in the same sense. Still, a re-occurring thing, in a way.
