The Grey Children are creepy lil' dudes. They still make me jump in the beginning of the game when they sneak up on you. Little jerks. D=<

I hated the invisible demon children and the ghosts both creeped me out and made me waste tons of ammo. /sigh

I broke my controller because of those EVIL things.
I couldn't shoot, hit, or run away from them, so i slammed the controller down hard and it fell apart.

SH1 nurses scare me more than the SH3 nurses. :3 For true.
They RUN at you. There are also places where they'll gang up on ya.

I voted the Simian because he always seems to catch me when I run to conserve ammo and then he rapes me a bit and laughs at me as I cry and escape.

The flying demons were really frustrating for me, especially when there were other monsters around that attack you while you're still stunned from their attack. Melee weapons are nearly useless against them; your timing has to be perfect, which is really difficult since it's difficult to tell where they were coming from most of the time.

The ground based enemies, on the other hand, are almost too easy once you get the emergency hammer. One hit and lights out.

The scariest monsters, for me though, have to be the mumblers, or demon children. Every time I see or hear one my heart stops for a second, and the palms of my hands and soles of my feet get all tingly momentarily. Probably the freakiest moment in the game for me was when I walked into a classroom and I saw one sitting at one of the desks, that made me think that maybe they weren't monsters at all but actual children and Harry could, in fact, be in a delusional state, running around a normal elementary school killing children. A very scary thought.

I picked Apeman.

The sound he makes gives me chills. He's not the type of monster you can stand there and shoot. You don't have time to look around outside searching. And sometimes he can catch up to you. I remember having to go look for a location on the map(a building) and it took me a few moments to look for it. I had to run around searching while running away from the Apeman. Not only it's frustrating but it's scary as well. And if you pause to check your map, you might lose momentum, so when you unpause the Apeman may have already caught up to you.

Every other monster is basically point and shoot, especially easy with auto-aim.

Like almost everyone here, I chose the sewer monsters. Always in the way, coming at you out of nowhere and so hard to deal with when you're trying to conserve ammo.

Also, they're kind of lame, design-wise. Most of the monsters in SH are so creatively creepy and twisted, and these look like they wandered out of a lesser game.

Every monster in Silent Hill has a strategy for killing. I've made a few YouTube videos just to demonstrate.

Still, though, the monsters I hate the most to this day are the Air Screamers and the Mumblers/Grey Child/Demon Children. Air Screamers always ambush you while you can't figure out where the hell they're coming from, and those Mumblers leap forward at you in anticipation and latch onto you! Cheaters! It's even hard to kill them with the frikkin Katana! That's alright, though. That's why God invented the handgun.

Rompers aren't so bad. They can have some shotgun too.
Anything else that doesn't fly can eat an Emergency Hammer to the face; that usually works.
