You mean the regular version between the greatest hits?

Yeah there is some differences. Other endings were added and the side story Born from a wish where you play as Maria.

There is a better world. Well, there must be.

Xuchilbara and Bronze Fox, read the board name.

Freefallmarine, the original release and the greatest hits release of Silent Hill (one) are both the same.

Um what's wrong with Bronze Fox's post? It pertains to SH1.
Some regions, the grey children were replaced with something else I believe.

But I don't think there's any difference between regular and Greatest Hits.

The U.S. release of Silent Hill and its Greatest Hits edition have no differences.

The only difference is the label.
I would get the Greatest Hits version, but I would rather have the label that ISN'T sickly green. Purely cosmetic, I know, but it bothers me for some reason.

there isnt any difference in terms of gameplay only in box and disk appearence.

I know the greatest hits came later it had the green lable on the box with a black disk cover.
BUt the OG one... 8)
i know it was first to come out with sheryl on the cover of the disk.
:thumbright: :thumbright:

I do have both.
I play the Greatest hits and have nice and clean the Original Black Label with the strategy guide for collection. :love10:  :occasion5:

super sweet! :downtown:

I did see this auction on ebay not too long ago for the original black label version but check it...it was still factory sealed!

Crazy Awesome :tongue9:

I think it was going for $150. dont remember. So would want it but you know $$$$$.

It's funny, I found my SH1 in a used book store in Dallas for 30 bucks, wished they had the game guide though. I just like collecting the guides with the games.

Didn't they just have a different name?

It was criminal how the very first Silent Hill game was not in the box set they released, which had 2, 3 and 4. Silent Hill 2 was not even the DC port from the Xbox, which is why I thought it was a lackluster collection.

I am almost certain that they could have added SH1 even though it was a PS1 game.

They were toned down to look less like children and more like monsters, as well as given a new name...

I really had no idea that the first SH had a Greatest Hits version. Do original PS1 games have Greatest Hits now?

From what I understand, on the PS2 games, most of the changes are on the game covers. Just a few slight changes here and there, the obvious one being the Greatest Hits label at the very top. As for the gameplay, there's a few games that are different from the original. I guess you'd have to look it up on online to see. Example: in the Greatest Hits version of GTA:SA, the "Hot Coffee" mod was taken out.

Yeah, the Playstation had (and still has) the 'Greatest Hits' series, starting on the PS1. Silent Hill was one of them, and pretty much the only difference is the green label on the front.

Oh ok.

Atleast there are no changes in the gameplay, which is good. Well, good luck to those wanting to buy the original SH game, as I heard it's hard to find these days.
