Are you going to get this game in September? No bashing on the game, as there are already plenty of topics for that. No overzealous defending of it either. Minor criticism is acceptable (as is general raving), just don't turn this into an argument.

I won't, simply for the reason that I don't have a PS3. I also don't anticipate having the money to buy one for a long while, so SH: H will have to wait.

I'll probably end up with a new console by the end of the year. It could be the Playstation 3, but it'll probably be the Wii.

So while Fatal Frame IV will be an option for me, Silent Hill will most certainly not be.

Unless I somehow get lucky and score enough money to get both a PS3 and a Wii.

(Yeah right)

I'm getting it for sure. I don't live anywhere close to any game stores though, and don't drive, so it could be a while before I actually get the chance to pick it up, though.

Nope. I only have a PS2 and GameCube.

It looks too difficult for me anyway.

Yes.
Pre-ordered it at GameStop.
Getting it on release day.
Nothing will stop me.
I don't really care if it's bad or not.
Speaking of which, I need to confirm that GameStop actually set my order for the 360, as I didn't specifically state what I wanted it for.

I'm certainly getting this game (for my PS3), that'll be on it's release date as well.

I work in a video game store now, so there's no reason why I shouldn't be buying it.

Hey Floodclaw, since I haven't looked into it, would you happen to know if there are any promotional items that are going to be included as gifts if you pre-order your copy?

The fact that at the moment, it has more games that I'm interested in and it's cheaper.

Let's see: Metal Gear Solid 4 and Silent Hill: Homecoming versus Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and The Force Unleashed. That's 2 to 4. Tomb Raider: Underworld can go either way, but even if it leans towards the PS3 (because of the controls), Fatal Frame IV is now on the side of the Wii. That's 5 games to play, compared to PS3's 3.

There's a good chance someone in my family will buy the console for me as a Christmas gift. But even if they don't and I buy it out of my own pocket, it's still a better value than the PS3. The only thing is finding it.

Oh, and I almost forgot Paper Mario 3. That's definitely a game I want to play. There are other games on the PS3, like Grand Theft Auto 4 and Drake's Fortune. But those are games I'd check out eventually. All the above games for the Wii are must-have games, with the exception of Fatal Frame IV.

I won't just because I don't own a PS3... and I want to get it for PC but it will probably be very expansive so... I'll have to wait.

The Force Unleashed is going to be coming to the PS3.

Anyway, I'm definitely buying Homecoming. On launch? Probably not, due to lack of moneys.

I don't believe so, and that makes me sad. I don't see any one the Gamestop website, nor do I see any offers anywhere else.

Also, @PH, Super Paper Mario was Paper Mario 3, in case you were wondering ^_^ It was great while it lasted, but there were limited things to do after you finished the story.

Oh, I know. But the Wii version is the only one that's going to have the two-player duel mode, which includes Luke Skywalker as a character. So even though I'd prefer the PS3 version for the controls, I'm willing to try the Wii version for a while.

I knew I forgot the "Super" part. But I wasn't sure if it was "Super Paper Mario 3" or "Super Paper Mario". :)

What I'm interested about this game is that it's as not as RPG-heavy as the other installments, and the ability to turn sideways and shift into 3D for a while. Not that others are intensive RPGs, but I prefer the traditional platforming method. I haven't played a good classic Mario game that wasn't on the SNES in...forever.

(Or at least since the Game Boy era).

And then there's the Wii Virtual Console, which has a lot of classic games I'd love to play away from the SNES (I can give that machine a break).

I'm not saying I'll never buy Silent Hill: Homecoming, but I just won't buy it right away. There's too much to play on the other console for me to blow my money on a PS3. Besides, that way I can see if there's a price drop eventually. ;)

I hope to get this when it's released, even if it means I'll have to save $60 from a previous check.

Thanks for the info...I do hope they come up with something though, that'd be pretty cool.

Promotional items or not, I am really excited about this game...I really hope it'll live up to our highest expectations.

Fail.

You can't judge a book by it's cover. But apparently you already have.

I watched someone play through the opening, Level 1, 3, and 4, plus the boss fight. Oh and the fact that they refer to the "stages" as "levels" is disheartening to me. Just wait until you see the forehead-bashing checkpoint save system and branching dialogue in action. I just don't like the way it looks and feels, nor do I like the enemies or combat system.

They're releasing too much information about the game, so I saw enough gameplay to make my decision. I am not "judging a book by its cover." Although, I do admit the cover art is... well, not my style.

I don't want to cause an argument here, but I made my decision on the game -- this is how I feel. I will have to rent it for the documentary though... which I'm not looking forward to.

They referred to the stages as levels? Oh, well that does it. This game is now ruined folks. Everyone call your friends, and tell them what fail this game is. Double Helix called the 'stages' 'levels'

No offense, Fungo, but that is absolutely the stupidest reason to hate the game. I can understand hating the game because [SPOILER] is in it. I can sort of understand hating it, because "evil" Americans are making it.

But, to hate this game because they called the stages, levels? I think it's time to grow up. Stages and levels are pretty much the same thing. So what if they call them 'levels'?

Crai moar.
