Dead Patients in the Crematorium

Post by firecrest »

This info is from one of Konami's guidebook called "Silent Hill 3 Koushiki Kanzen Kouryaku Guide." It's in the same book as "Lost Memories - Silent Hill Chronicles." They are two parts of the same book.

There's a page in the book that explains how to solve the Crematorium Puzzle in the Hard level difficulty. Naturally it's written in Japanese, but here I translated it for you.

No. 1: Thrill-killer
No. 2: Gluttony
No. 3: Narcotics Addiction
No. 5: Autism
No. 6: Suicide
No. 7: Stanley
No. 8: Religious Fanatic
No. 9: Intellectual Disability
No. 0: Masochism

I guess this doesn't add much to the Brookhaven Hospital lore, but I thought it was interesting.

What does "thrill-killer" mean?

I am also confused by "intellectual disability ", did they die that way?
"Speak.
I am the Crimson One.
The lies and the mist are
not they, but I.
You all know that I am One.
Yes, and the One is I."
- Me, probably

A thrill-killer is someone who kills for the thrill of it.

"Intellectual disability" is apparently the proper medical term for what used to be referred to as "mental retardation." I initially wrote the latter, but found out that this particular disorder wasn't called that anymore.

I think everyone on the list was admitted to Brookhaven for those stated reasons. "Suicide" sounds like someone would have died of it, but maybe the patient was admitted for suicidal tendencies. Kind of wondered if this was a throwback to "the diary on the roof" from SH2.
