Apparently you find them using the Action Replay disk. There are also five stones, making me think that originally you could use them for another ending, but obviously it got scrapped.

Sorry... I tried asking on this forum I'm on (that has a few people actually living in Japan), and I got no dice. I'm kind of ignored there, anyway.

Have you tried the "Let's Speak Japanese!" guild on Gaia?
ya fuckin rite

I'll bet they planned for you to purify it to make it white.

I haven't, but I'll give it a shot.

WAHOO!

I have a friend who knows Japanese. I showed her the links, and asked her if she could translate them. She said yes, and this is what she got.

For the Red Oil

red balm/perfume (exorcism)

A special balm for exorcism.
If thrown on the ground, a large area will be exorcised.

So I'm guessing that the red oil is aglaophotis.

For the Key

Master Key
An old-fashioned key.
"4S cemetery" has been carved on to it.

So...I'm thinking that there must have been an ending in which if you had the red oil, the Master Key, and the five dirty stones; Henry would go into the 4S cemetery, place the dirty stones in a certain pattern, and then toss the oil on the ground. This oil would then exorcise the cemetery of evil spirits.

Hmm, or maybe (and this is just speculation.) At the end of SH4, I believe it's said that Walter's victims were found in the forest. Now it never states where exactly, but what if they were found at the 4S cemetery? Perhaps, by using the red oil, Henry could have exorcised Walter's victims, and freed them from his world.

*shrugs* Just a thought.

Channeling stones: More than likely to be used for a UFO ending. I believe they were to be found in the toilet and Henry was supposed to clean 'em in the sink--since it's the only thing that actually works.

So wait, are you saying that the dirty stones are actually the channeling stones? I'm asking, because if you browse the above links you'll notice that there are four channeling stones, and five dirty stones.

I still think there was supposed to be two secret endings. *shrugs*

Yes, that's what I believe, but it's also entirely speculation because no one knows for sure.

See, where my doubt comes in is due to the fact that there are five dirty stones, but only 4 channeling stones.

It might just be that at the time the screenshot was taken, the player had only acquired 4 of the 5 stones.

Except it appears that he has the channeling stones along with the dirty stones.

OK, but enough on stones. I'm curious about your guy's thoughts on the red oil and the cemetery key.

I think that the red oil may've needed to by purified to become white (which wouldn't really make sense, because that would be helping the ritual, and it was already performed)...or it could be a way to counteract the ritual.

Maybe it was used on the final boss in the same vain as the umbilical cord.

Well, that was achieved by codes. S/he didn't have to physically locate the items, they just showed up in the inventory.

Did you read the translation? Here it is again in case you missed it.

Red balm//Perfume

Red balm used for exorcisms, throwing this on the ground will exorcise a large area.

The fact that there's a key to the cemetery only further implements the idea//possibility that Henry at one point was to perform an exorcism on that ground.
