Use your best judgement to give an accurate rating to the game and explain why.

I gave it a 4/5

It's not the best game of the series, that honor goes to SH1, but in my opinion it was a lot better than SH2. I'm not saying that SH2 was bad, but in all honesty it didn't touch me the way SH0 did. Oh what's this? Oh this guy killed his wife, oh umm okay, that's sad.

The graphics were good for a PSP game, the music was excellent even if a few tracks sounded recycled from SH2.

The puzzles were a bit too easy, and so were the boss battles, but in the end I'm in for the story.

Like I said, SH0 actually affected me psychologically that SH2 never could. This is the first SH game, where I might just join the crowd and take the psychological aspect over the cult aspect.

(That doesn't mean I'm throwing away the spiritual aspects though.)

Uh didn't we already rate this kind of in a previous thread? What gives?

Anyway, I would one less minus of Lobsel to a 3/5. I think 2 was much better and darker, but I loved, loved Origins otherworld.

As I have not played SH:0 yet, I cannot vote. But I'd expect my vote to be either a 3 or 4. But then again, I could be brutally disappointed with the story, which'd drop it to a 2 most likely. And who knows? Maybe the game could be so good/bad that i'd have to give it a 5 or 1.

In other words, until I play it, my opinion on SH0 is meh. It seems alright, but it also appears kinda like fanservice... and I would much rather play it on a console.

I thought a numerical rating would be better.

And the game is great at the end. At the end, it blew me away with some new, original monsters and a better looking "otherworld." The first half of the game is too under-par to make up for how great it gets towards the end. I gave it a 2/5, but I think I'd settle on a 2.5 or 3/5.

I gave it a 4 (3.5?). I like it, it's absolutely stunning for a PSP game, but sorta bland for a SH game. Puzzles are bland and at some times require no thinking (there isn't even a difficulty setting), monsters are exciting at times, but wholly unoriginal and lacking. The gameplay is what we have come to expect, and IMHO, this is just another SH game.

Not bad, but not mind-blowing either. I like it, but I feel the game could have done more. (Note: I have yet to finish game, so rating may change).

Since I don't have a PSP, I'm basing it off of what I've read and seen.

The storyline seems to have loop holes, the character and monster concepts are a little lacking sometimes, etc.

So, I'd give it a 2 - 3/5.

I've never been to Norway, and I heard it's awesome, but Iceland like totally beat it as the best country to live according to the UN. So I give Norway a 6.5/10 for most awesomenest places to live.

4/5, for all of the reasons Lobsel Vith mentioned. Best game I've played for the PSP, and I think it's a worthy addition to the series.

I choose the lowest rating presented, a one out of five.

Explain your reasoning? You own the game and are basing that score on first-hand experience, I hope.

Agreed. I will be mildly upset and inexplicably annoyed until you do.

And don't base it off the demo, because the demo had a crap load of glitches.

I was poking fun at those people who are rating SH0 even though they haven't played it.

I loved the satire humour there Lobsel.

*sigh* Lately I've been judgemental of V. But I think the more proper term is cautious and questionable. I defenately would not have voted on it or anything before I played it. I know w/ 3 and even Origins, playing it and experiencing it for yourself is so totally different than various opinions given about it. (Altho some of them may be right)

For me it's the same as the metal-archives dot com. People get to submit reviews for the albums on that site. I've seen Slayer's "Reign in Blood" gets remarkable reviews (it's average now is an 84/100 out of 24 reviews). I listened to it, more than once, more than twice. Hell I gave it a chance, and I think it's one of the most overhyped albums ever.

So the moral? Don't go relying on other people's opinions because nobody craps the same way.

The Fever... gives a low score to SHO... just like Fungo...?

Hmm, this must be a conspiracy or it really is a bad game. :laughing6:

Just like Halo 3? :P

Anyway, the comment applies to here as well. Everyone has their own opinion, so no point in arguing about it. Not that anyone was XD

Not to be pretentious, but it really seems like you're saying "Mine, and Brandon's opinions are the only ones that count."

Which isn't true.

As difficult as it is for me to admit this to myself and publicly, I must directly speak out, Silent Hill: Origins is by far the worst Silent Hill game in the series and not at all deserving the luxurious Silent Hill name. It is truly embarrassing how terrible this game really is. To begin, the platform the game was created for from the start was the single most stupid, imprudent decision. The sheer thought of a Silent Hill game on the PlayStation Portable device makes a mockery of our infamous survival-horror series. The next travesty facing this installment is an inferior United States game studio's perception of Silent Hill and the bona fide elements that define the series apart from any other game in existence. Climax fails on every measurable issue in judging this game's class or eminence for the standpoint of any genuine Silent Hill fan. Regrettably, the disaster called Silent Hill: Origins is forever part of the Silent Hill franchise. Yet there is hope that lessons learned will be decisions better made by Konami.
