The things that creeped you out. [Spoilers possible]

Something I've noticed that was kind of creepy.

You know the glow around PH when you see him after hearing the scream in the apartments right?

I noticed in one of the rooms you could see a glow the same color and stuff. I think in a kitchen or something.

The 'breathing hallways' you hear sometimes.

Where you have to deposit ALL your items to get into the elevator. I was nervous treading without a weapon. Got even worse when I saw a Mannequin X.x

Three places I hate the most:

The room Maria was in when she layed down and when you revisit it in Alternate Hospital, it was breathing

The hole under the morgue (that moaning sounds creepily weird)

And the bathrooms, don't know why? Go up to a closed stall, observe it, and find out!

The Breathing Hallways always got me, it felt like I was being watched....by the rapist PH or something, but I noticed something.....

The breathing hallway, on the third floor I think, in the apartments, I think the breathing stopped once I met Eddie and saw PH for the first time.

The last few minutes of the last hotel. I mean, Silent Hill must hav re-arranged the layout of the hotel since I didnt see no balcony room with 9 saves in the room before on the map......... The whole last bit of the game was physically impossible X.x

Well, its the whole otherworld thing again, anything can happen in the otherworld it seems, like teleportation to different rooms on the otherside of the building. The 9 saves is the part before the double PH fight right next to the door. Its on the wall just before the fight.

I think one thing that stands out as being scary to me in the game is when you first enter the apartment building. It's suddenly silent for the first time in the game. Then you go up to the third floor, and there's that noise, not quite a siren, and not quite scrape, with sort of scuffling in it. Oh that get's to me, makes me shiver!

I didnt notice. Maybe I should replay SH2 again.

Yeah I knew the 9 saves was before the 2PH battle......It just gets to me when architecture is out of place or doesn't make sense and such. X.X

Thats why I didn't like the apartments, it was just too silent, having the monsters around was more of a relief than it probably should have been.

The slight violin scraping noise that occurs in Ashes and Ghost in Silent Hill 2 and seems to be associated with Pyramid Head (in fact it resembles his great knife scraping, only more..er.. stringy). I can't listen to that track alone at night anymore.... I love stringed instruments, they are my favourite... and it seems they creep me out the most as well.

They aren't played badly. They are played expertly. Badly played violins don't scare me, they just annoy me.

hahaha that was actually a good point ;P

hmm... Right from the appartments forward this entire game creeped me out. I must admit, I first started and when I got into town was almost positive it was a terrible, third rate game. No buildings to walk into, annoying fog, lumpy demons randomly walking around. But I got into those appartments and MAN I was terrified.

The part that probably creeped me out the most was seeing Pyramid Head standing behind that gate for the first time. You can't reach him, and he just stands there. He's huge! Then you walk into that room and seeing that mess just horrified me. I was so afraid everytime there was a room transition. I had NO idea what to expect!

Another part that really scared me was the hospital. That little insane asylum they had going there really freaked me out. It starts telling you about this guy who has to be let out in stuff, and to see the cell ripped open. Once again, I was terrified to walk anywhere! I'd have to muster all my courage to transition rooms.

Thats why I hated the apartments, I had no idea what would be in each room, usually it was nothing, which made me more nervous.

I think the best thing about the game was the fact that it was especially hard to guess what was coming next. Which was what made the game creepy for me. I never knew what was around a corner, especially in the maze like area...Popping into PH down there was a bit surprising, especially considering the worst I had thought I'd encounter were more paitent demons.

I think it relates to Xuchilpaba. Unlike the other games, Sh2 doesn't have a predominate red theme and when red occurs it always stands out in 2. Like the red baby carriage in the empty pool....

what scared me the first time I played was I tried to shoot at the glowig PH, nothng happened.

what scares me, the overall feeling that a greater power is 'controling' you or guiding you so to speak. Just there's alway something there, and is it just me or does it feel like your'e always being watched? :P I think there arealso many spirits influence you, I know Mary's does from time to time... Like her handwriting on the map of the hotel and if you try to go to the top closed off stair ways a bit before you get the key she calls your name. (What amazes me is that imo the way the spirits are, is realistic and is how they really messs with you in rl.)

Also when you get certin endings and then replay the game, specifically the rebirth ending the monsters come back to life! :O

...and all the mystery that is Silent Hill, I agree that the less you know the more you are scared & being confused makes it better in some cases.

Yeah but it's like randomly, so you have this constant paranoia that they'll just keep coming back and back.

It does say in the topic title, spoilers possible.

The loud and sudden noises always make me jump, even if I know that they're going to happen. Also in Lakeside View hotel on the basement floor for the first time you start running along then a sudden camera angle change you suddenly see a mannequin. Also makes me jump. The several apartment rooms in the apparetments are quite creepy when its all silent, you never know what might be there to make you jump... :O

Eee, the bit when you're running down the hallway to get away from the two pyramid heads and Maria falls behind.....*horrible guilty feeling*
