Silent Hill 2 for certain; this is the epitome of what a horror soundtrack should be, and the nonpareil masterwork of a musical genius. I love every track of this chef-d'oeuvre from Theme of Laura to Promise. This is the greatest music to come out of a Roland JP-8080 for sure; and the finest video game soundtrack period. (Do I sound a little overzealous talking about 2's soundtrack?)
Soundtrack from second part is the most amazing. But I must admit that I also like the one from the fourth Silent Hill. Songs with lyrics are really amazing and I really like the voices of singers. And when I hear "Waiting for you - live at Heaven's Night" - ooooh, I'm really high
i'm in love with all the soundtracks. there's none that i could like more or least. the only thing i don't like are the songs with lyrics. SH3 was ruined by them... i don't get it though... why is there like "love songs" in SH3? i know it's for the love of her dad but still... i wouldn't call my mom or dad "Baby"....
I love the Silent Hill 4 soundtrack. There are so many good songs in that album, and it's really just well polished. It goes over such a wide range of emotions that it's really a beautiful journey.
Silent Hill 3 is good too, but there are some stinkers on that album. As for Silent Hill albums 1 and 2, I only like a handful of songs on both. I don't pop them in my CD player very often. What can I say? It's not that these albums are bad, they're just not as good as the 3 and 4.
Every game has its perks, although I haven't listened to much of 4's soundtrack yet to really know what it's like (even though I have it on my computer).
In terms of favorites, I think i'd have to choose #1. In fact, going down the line in terms of chronological order is also the order in which they fall on my list.
I love Fungo's rips, however, because they add a new dimension to all the OST's. It's like, tracks that you would have wished being expanded upon, are given a new light. I also love how he expanded on two of my favorite songs from the SH1 OST and gave them proper length!
wow wow wow ! Don't you realize?! My favorite ost is certainly the 3 because the first time I heard "end of the small sanctuary", I stopped to play just to listen that song. Sometimes I restart the game just to listen it once more..
"dance with nignt wind" and "bleeze - in monochrome" are my greatest too
Okay as far as a 'soundtrack' goes, I have to choose SH2 because it flows really nicely. I love the SH1 too but I wish it had more of those retro sounding peices like the bloopers one. Three is quite good but the spoken word bits are just too dopey and ruin the mood. The Room's is awesome so it beats out 3. So.... 2>1>4>3.
