Re: What are you listening to?
It's mainly on YouTube as I can't find the album anywhere in the UK. Wilbur Bascom.
Isn't a day goes by I'm not listening to "Chariot of the Gods". Very different to anything I normally listen to.
But marvellous piece of work. Your face will be at first, but stick with it and you'll get to

I think I'm gonna listen to some Earth and Fire later on tonight. The guitarist Chris, recently died. His twin brother also passed away. He was the group's organist.
They're a Dutch rock group that later started up disco music, and Scooter covered "Weekend" by them. They remind me of Shocking Blue, who had a big hit with "Venus."

Re: What are you listening to?
MGMT have released a live album 11.11.11 recorded in 2011 at some Museum or exhibition. All different material from their previous (by then 2) or later albums (after this gig also 2).
The music was inspired by other exhibits. Not got anything visual but it's a 21st Century Tubular Bells but Funkier to listen to. Forgot it got released a few days ago https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5 ... DD_SirJC3U

A beautifly minimalist IDM album.

In here is a tragedy, art thou player or audience?
Be as it may, the end doth remain:
all go on only toward death.
...
There is nothing which cannot become a puppet of fate
or an onlooker, peering into the cage.

We should play songs by Irene Cara, to remember her.

Re: What are you listening to?
I remembered Martin Duffy. Keyboardist for Primal Scream who died from a fall at his home.
And now I'll have to get acquainted with the work of Jeff Beck that I've been putting off. Saddened he's died from bacterial meningitis, as I had the viral version of that as a schoolkid that put me in hospital for days.
But to bring it back to Jeff. Dozens of not tonnes of guitar bands came along trying their own 70's revival.
Jeff Beck could have easily coasted on this and nostalgia. But he even bought Hip Hop strokes and Electronics to his sound. He seemed to be always more interested in going forward and taking risks on things that might not be successful. Than chase the top selling retail chain charts.

Basically nothing but Front Line Assembly for the past couple weeks.

"Bubblegum Dog" by MGMT. New album out February. Second single from it. Amusing video.
If I'm not playing it, then it's stuck right in that old brain of mine.
