Stop me if you've heard this before... but I never got a good, clear look at who was in the other passing cage during that whole, "Nightmare Jail" sequence.
You know the one, when Murphy is riding in that cage along a track, and he's witnessing prison riots, people hanging from rafters, wheels goes by at some point, and then it ends at "his stop", the showers. Another passing cage goes by at some point during the hell ride, and Murphy says something like "Wait... was that? Couldn't be...."
Who is in there? My speculations are on JP Sater, but it's too dark for me to really make out any defining characteristics!

I've noticed a lot of the Silent Hills seem to feature that doppelganger essence... (Henry's Victim-self, Memory of Alessa, the corpses around town looking like James, ice sculptures in SHSM looking like Harry) It's extremely unsettling.

you see....all of those who you mentioned already can only see them self's with fear and scary looking ..i mean they see them self's like hell inside of them... Heather seen her self as bloody face! Henry seen him self as a scary ghost or something really creepy! James seen a died body! and they can seen them self like this way over and over...while murphy here can't see him self with a scary looking or something O_O! ...just him only! in that cage ..just normally him!
