I think the game fared pretty well. It's a game with an original story, and original characters and for once it wasn't trying to immitate any of the past games (outside of the SM inspired chase sequences that i kinda didn't like) It 's a game that can stand on it's own and Murphy's story is done...it was a solid effort and better than homecoming and there's no reason to revisit his storyline anymore.

I liked that it also didn't try to pull the other games into this this because then you run the risk of mucking up past storylines then having to modify and explain this and that etc....there were easter eggs in there, but nothing that would be detrimental to past games.
Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding....these are the basic fundamentals of life....

If you can't amaze them with brilliance, baffle them with bulls**t...

Yeah, i agree with everything clips just said. It stands on its own without messing up anything that happened in previous games.

I think the game solidly improves after the DJ sequence and makes it solidly 4th place in my favorite Silent Hill games.

I think it fared well. As clips7 said original Story and original characters. But to be honest even if it didn't fair well , I wouldn't care because it was a very good game.
