That was the first ending I got and was wondering the exact same thing right afterwards.

Perhaps he was indeed going to visit Carol.

I also thought that he may be going to pay his respects at Charlie's grave, but I don't see why he would be so optimistic about that.

What is weird is that Murphy walks the same way (other side of the bus) that he did in the begining after the crash. From what I remember there were only two paths that way...the lake with that broken boat (dead end) or the way to the mines, which leads to silent hill.

I Dont think he headed either of those directions haha, i looked like he walked toward the lake itself, or maybe he was just trying to find another way to the street, like around the tree at the beginning that he said he couldnt get around, which is sill because any fool could CLIMB Over that fallen tree xDD

I think the road above would most likely be restored as of now, so he'd just travel the way the bus came.

However, he's still a fugitive in the world.

I'd like to think an epilogue to Downpour would end just like Red Dead Redemption. xD
