So, for those buying this, should we expect tech issues too?

Post by Matt S on Thu Mar 22, 2012 6:38 pm

I am a little disgruntled right about now, and with good reason. Downpour has real and serious lag; HD collection has audio issues, bugs, and some lag (360) to a lot (PS3). Why should we expect anything other than another half assed effort from the Konami camp.

If this game has a lot of tech issues, I will personally storm the offices of Konami and demand my money back....LOL, ok, maybe not, but I will be not happy

By reason of logic by "chance" based on events which happened to other variables, you could assume that would be so, but all three of these SH releases were handled by different teams, so reason of chance is never a good thing to go by when it comes to game development. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. We won't know until it releases.

SH HDC and Downpour will both be patched eventually, so these current issues will be fixed somewhere down the line.

Tomm already talked about the HDC patch, dunno about a Downpour patch but I'm assuming they'd do one since it's in their best interests if they want anyone to buy their game that didn't already, lol.

I'm hoping Book of Memories doesn't have any bad issues. I am disappointed in Konami at the state of the new Silent Hill releases. I could have even waited another 5 months at least to get all of these fixed before they hit the shelves. Hey, atleast they aren't Bethesda though...thank god.

Even with all of Bethesda's glitches, the game still is playable without lag every 5 seconds. i can deal with glitches, but when the screen 'freaks out' every 5 seconds, I cannot deal.

Hard to say, WayForward is the team behind Book Of Memories, and unlike every other outside developer so far they have a solid track record. Climax - licensed games. Double Helix - licensed games. Vatra - nothing. Hijinx - a shitty Frogger game. WayForward - still a lot of licensed games, but some very well received work such as Shantae, Contra 4, LIT and A Boy And His Blob. Nothing to sniff at. On the other hand, Konami has a way of ruining things, as we've seen firsthand. I've come to the conclusion that the entire development roster post Team Silent has been all about budget (or lack thereof) and nothing else

Didn't they only bitch about the new voices? They weren't right.

They're seldom right about anything these days. They're just the token court jesters of the fanbase.

Jesus Christ, two wrongs don't make a right. Can't tell if you're trolling or not, but those guys have dedicated themselves to spreading misinformation and spitting on the very people who made the games they're obsessed with, including Yamaoka himself

Anyway, Wayforward, Hijinx, and Vatra are all completely different companies. Just because one release is buggy doesn't mean all of them will turn out the same way.

I can't help but wonder if the delay in this game from tomorrow's release date was pure marketing, or an indicating Konami was about to release another lag fest

Konami = confusing the hell out of people with their shitty modern efforts since 2012

I'm waiting for a price drop on Vita, and that gives me plenty of time to check out reviews and fan reaction to determine if bugs and glitches take away from this game.

I can say that if the PS3 can't have a good quality game at this point that's mostly bug and glitch free then what chance do we have for the newest hand held?

And going through this process to get patches that work is really not worth going through again. So sorry Konami, I remain skeptical.
See you in hell cupcake.
